I activated VC plugin and then deactivated other 3rd-party plugins and the editor worked fine.
So, some 3rd-party plugins are blocking the content.
Please disable them one by one but keep the required plugins enabled.

Do you have all plugins up to date?
Perhaps some 3rd-party plugins create conflicts. You may disable them.
Try to upload your site to some test domain and update the theme there to check the issues.
