If you have problems with the default WooCommerce options even when the default Storefront theme is enabled then you need to contact WooCommerce plugins support. We can help you only in case the problem appears only when our theme is enabled or with XStore theme options.

I have added the product to category and it appeared on the frontend. Seems problem was caused by the empty category.

There are few ways to create this slider:
1) Create brands at Products > Brands. Use thumbnails to add the brand logo. After that add the WPBakery Brands element http://prntscr.com/n11x4m

2) Use the Image gallery element http://prntscr.com/n11xjk and add the images and links for them if you need.

I have removed the padding before the breadcrumbs (custom styles in child theme style.css) but I can’t move them to default place below the header. If you prefer that variant then choose the default layout for your product.

1) If you use the image as the bg image for the slider + background size “cover” you need to understand that image will be cropped on different devices because background size “cover” works in this way https://cssreference.io/property/background-size/

Theme update should not cause this issue. Check the server error logs, do you have any errors there? Maybe it helps to understand what is the reason of the problem.
