1) Everything depends on the things you want to edit. To edit the layout of the shop archive page copy xstore/woocommerce/archive-product.php file to child theme and edit the child theme copy of the file. If you want to edit the product card layout of the shop page copy xstore/woocommerce/content-product.php, xstore/woocommerce/content-product-slider.php
Don’t edit the parent theme files because you will lose your changes after theme update.

2) You won’t be able to create exactly the same layout using built-in options but you may try single product builder to create something similar. Provide us with WP Dashboard access to your site and we’ll create an example.

1) Go to Products > Product categories > edit product category and upload the product category thumbnail.

2) Go to Products > Brands > edit product brand and upload the brands’ thumbnails.

If you update XStore core plugin you will also need to update theme.
