    Please deactivate 3rd-party plugins and try to import the data again. If the issue still persists you need contact your host and ask what php version is used on the server. If it’s lower than 5.3 please ask them to update it.

    We’ve regenerated thumbnails using this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ . Now the image should be displayed fine.

    Yes, the problem really exists. Seems the plugin or theme needs to be customized additionally. Do you need to have the plugin always enabled? You may activate it only for importing files.
