Just noticed another problem with the Bike theme import. The Home Page main Slideshow at the top, when imported, only has two slides, whilst the demo has three slides. Can you please provide me with the slideshow on your demo? Seems to be an updated one to the one being imported.

    Regards

OK, I think now I understand. On my site after importing demo, the area underneath the heading “BEST PRODUCTS OF THE SEASON” is switched with the slideshow area, as on your site, so I understand now. Because I didn’t have any products showing, that slideshow was not displaying the rotating product carousel. It’s a shame that the demo I imported doesn’t actually match your demo layout, as that caused a little confusion. Not sure why you make it different.

One more thing… the section of the Home Page called #showcase, with three images of cyclists in tabs. on your demo, when you hover the mouse over the images, they rotate a bit, but on my site, they are static images. I can’t see any options to animate the images with the mouse hover. Can you explain how I achieve that, please?

    @thisisbolo

Thanks, I’ll have a looksee at the Massive Add-On plugin in more detail. I did use it for something a while back on another theme.

    Hi @thisisbolo

Thanks for responding. I am very grateful for your helpful suggestions. My main point, however, that it would be much easier for this to be implemented as a theme option. It exists as an option for some other themes out there. It makes it much easier for people who are not as well versed in css styling. (I am and have in fact managed it where needed)

I would like to see the border also optionally on thumbnails found everywhere too, like on the home pages where you see featured/sale/random products etc.

I don’t think it would be difficult for 8theme’s dev team to implement as an option. It would save a lot of people a lot of time.

    Cheers!

    Hi
I would very much like an option in the XStore -> Options to allow product thumbnails and the images on each product page to be displayed with a border. Typically, the border would be light grey with 1px thickness, but this should ideally be configurable and should be able to be switched on or off.

I own other Woocommrce themes that do allow this feature. I will post an example of one in the private messages section.

If a product has a white background, and the page behind it is also white, then the product is indistinguishable from its background. Now I know in a lot of your demo examples, the product has a grey background, so the product is clearly separate from the background, however, a lot of items being sold will have images with white backgrounds, hence the option to have a border is highly desirable on a lot of sites. Whilst XStore is a great theme, this is something that should be implemented to make it much better and in line with its competitor e-commerce themes.

    I hope this makes sense.

    Kind regards

OK, I think I have worked out how to do it myself now. I saw this video on radial gradients on Photoshop:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwjUWrwuIGs

I followed the video and replaced the two colours chosen with the colour at the centre of the original image and the colour at the far outside of the original image. Then, on the new image I was creating, I stretched the gradient tool from the centre to the right-hand side edge. The result was more-or-less what I needed, so I managed to learn something today.

    Thanks

    Hi

Thanks. But actually, I needed the background without the watches on it. I suppose you don’t know the source of the image please?

I tried to edit my original post, but got the error “You cannot create new topics.”. Please allow me to edit. I asked this some months ago, but the problem has now returned. #annoying

    @vfb1977

There are existing plugins to complement Woocommerce that allow you change the way the shop filters are displayed, including checkboxes:-

    https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-products-filter/

Maybe try Themeforest for other examples.

    I hope this helps.

After hours of searching where the setting was, I finally found it by chance. If anyone else needs to know, go here:-

    • From the Admin Menu -> Slider Revolution
    • Click on the slideshow you require
    • Then click Slider Settings
    • On the Right-hand-side, click ‘Layout & Visual’ tab
    • There you can set the ‘Background Image URL’.

Previously, I was looking at the Slide Editor, under ‘Main Background’. Very confusing for the development team to have hidden this background image there and not have it in the documentation anywhere. Hours lost on this.

Please close this thread, as I’ve resolved it.

    Many thanks!

OK, I think I found the answer, In each page, the box for “Disable copyrights” was ticked in pages in the Christmas theme. It’s working now.

    Please close this thread.

    Many thanks.

I have decided to remove the footer slider completely and make the footer look like the other demos with a black background. This way I can use Static Blocks and Visual Composer to create the footer and copyright left and copyright right areas.

The only problem now is that the copyright areas (left & right) are not showing. Where is the setting to enable this on the Christmas theme please?

I think the footer slider was also using the background maybe. I removed the footer slideshow to make the footer look like your other demos, and that image disappeared from them. It now only remains on the Home Page. There is a setting pulling in that aforementioned background somewhere?

I’m testing the Christmas theme offline at the moment. Surely the setting will be the same as your demo?

Note, I have just realized that the slider-bg-red.jpg is used on all pages, not just the Home Page. It’s badly named as the name suggests it is a background to the Slideshow only. Its loaded on all other pages too on the Christmas demo. I still have not worked out where that link is set? Please advise?

OK, I will explain why I am doing it this way. In the Christmas demo, you have a footer slider. Unfortunately, this means that editing the text or the menu in the footer is extremely difficult doing it in Slideshow Revolution. Also, I want to be able to edit things using VC. What I was attempting to do was use the Footer slider as a background in a static block and use Visual Composer Rows and elements to edit text in the footer which are placed above the slider which is the background. This is possible in a page, but not possible in a static block, since as I mentioned there is no option in the drop-down to select the Slider.

I would suggest to you development team not to make it so difficult to edit a footer. It’s extremely annoying to have to edit text, menus and add my own elements by editing a Slider Revolution slide.

You have suggested that I add a Slider element – however – if I do that, then I am unable to add other VC elements to be placed over the Slider background in the Christmas demo footer area.

Do you have any suggestions how I can achieve what I need? The worst possible thing is trying to edit things quickly in Revolution Slider.

OK, Thanks. I managed to recreate the text myself in Illustrator with another font and gave it a bevelled effect.

    Thanks anyway.

Do you at least know the typeface of the text used in that area? I can recreate the section with text myself if I know the font?

Also, I can’t see an image with the link you sent me?

Please can you upload the XStore PSD for the Spa demo theme variant? The last one I see on your downloads page is PSD 9 for Books.

I have a suggestion for a theme variant. One that sells greetings cards, like birthdays, Christmas, valentines etc. The home greetings cards industry is quite large so I believe there would be a demand for it.

Sorry, this is on my offline testing site. When you introduced limits to theme installation keys, I can no longer provide you with an online password protected testbed on my server, as I reached maximum installs with my key. At some point in future will introduce a test page online.

One more thing… if I make the page ‘Private’ I am able to save normally, but when I switch back to ‘Public’ setting, I get the white screen again when I click the update button. This only happens when Yoast is installed and the Visual Composer element [8Theme] Products, is set Display Type to Grid.

    @Rose Tyler

Thanks. Can you elaborate a bit more? My question is… if I change the domain by removing the www part, will the theme think its a new domain? I already understand that I can only use 1 license per live site. Your answer to me is ambiguous and I’m not sure what you mean?

    Thanks

I had posted another thread. There are two folders you supply with the options.json, one does not work, one does. See my other post re jewellery demo import. You are now aware of the problem and informed me you will fix it in future.

    Thanks

OK, thanks, will manually import Woocommerce files and also manually change GMAPS colour using the code from snazzymaps. Understood.

Many thanks, please close this ticket.

OK, I have worked out that the options.json file that comes in the \XML_files\jewellery is incorrect, but the one in the theme folder:

    \xstore\theme\assets\dummy\jewellery

This one works. The two that you supply do not match up and this caused me issues when manually importing. Your dev team needs to sort this out and ensure that both match up from now on please?
