    Hi

I have created a Static Block and am attempting to choose a Revolution Slideshow as the background. I can do this when creating a page using the options “Revolution Slider Options -> Choose Slide Template”. The option also appears in a Static Block at the bottom, but when I select the drop-down menu to select a slide, all it has in the drop-down is “Default”, with none of the available slides there as a choice.

    Please can you help?

    Regards

OK, I will explain why I am doing it this way. In the Christmas demo, you have a footer slider. Unfortunately, this means that editing the text or the menu in the footer is extremely difficult doing it in Slideshow Revolution. Also, I want to be able to edit things using VC. What I was attempting to do was use the Footer slider as a background in a static block and use Visual Composer Rows and elements to edit text in the footer which are placed above the slider which is the background. This is possible in a page, but not possible in a static block, since as I mentioned there is no option in the drop-down to select the Slider.

I would suggest to you development team not to make it so difficult to edit a footer. It’s extremely annoying to have to edit text, menus and add my own elements by editing a Slider Revolution slide.

You have suggested that I add a Slider element – however – if I do that, then I am unable to add other VC elements to be placed over the Slider background in the Christmas demo footer area.

Do you have any suggestions how I can achieve what I need? The worst possible thing is trying to edit things quickly in Revolution Slider.

    Regards

    Hello,

Please, read the Revolution slider documentation about slide templates to understand how it works https://www.themepunch.com/faq/choose-slide-template-individual-posts/

This is for post based types of the slider.
Unfortunately, I don’t know option to put revolution slider as background.

If revolution slider is not suitable for you then you may try simple rows with the massive addons multibackground option and add links as content inside.

I have decided to remove the footer slider completely and make the footer look like the other demos with a black background. This way I can use Static Blocks and Visual Composer to create the footer and copyright left and copyright right areas.

The only problem now is that the copyright areas (left & right) are not showing. Where is the setting to enable this on the Christmas theme please?

OK, I think I found the answer, In each page, the box for “Disable copyrights” was ticked in pages in the Christmas theme. It’s working now.

    Please close this thread.

    Many thanks.
