What version of Core plugin on your site? Looks like you updated the XStore Core plugin but did not update the theme. Before every core plugin update, we would recommend you to check the changelog https://xstore.8theme.com/update-history/ and you’ll find that you need to update not just XStore Core plugin but XStore theme first. Any core plugin update requires the theme update to the latest version before the plugin update.
So, update your theme to version 6.0.1 https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-installation/theme-update/

You can change Paddings in Theme Options > Menu styling > Fixed header menu or use custom CSS code to reduce font-size for the menu items:

.fixed-header .menu-wrapper .menu>li>a {
    font-size: 12px;
}

Smart Menu – controls the appearance of the toggle icon instead of the last menu items when there is no space to show the links in one line. Do not use if your menu is not too long.
Because this option uses when the menu contains a lot of 1-st level items it has the delay. In your case, just keek it disabled.

In case if automatic plugin installation fails, you can install them manually via your Dashboard: Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin > Browse plugins archives. Or via FTP, by uploading and extracting the plugin zip files into wp-content/plugins folder – https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/
Try to install demo content from XStore > Import Demos.
