Hi,
I noticed the fix in the last update, thanks for this.
Unfortunately, the breadcrumb tag fix only applies to single pages. Breadcrumbs in category pages still use the H1 tag; this isn’t changed.
Since the bulk of our website revolves around eCommerce (and subsequently our category pages), our problem is still not solved. And as said: SEO wise this is very bad practice.
Can you please make sure that the breadcrumbs settings covers ALL breadcrumb artifacts, on ALL pages?
Hi Rose,
the problem with working in a staging copy is that our eCommerce is live. All sales need to be updated manually to account for correct inventory.
The reason you didn’t see the issue is because I didn’t expect a reponse from you during the weekend, so we restored a backup already. This is what you’re currently viewing.
If we can agree on a time frame to troubleshoot the issue, I can make sure that a recent version is restored so that we can jointly assess and plan for a solution. Please bear in mind: this is a LIVE environment. Staging copies are not suitable due to inventory issues. We need to plan this carefully.
– EDIT – I’ve restored the most recent version of our backups. Your fix should be in there, as is the issue I created this ticket for.
Hi Olga,
what exactly have you done/changed?
Since Dec 9th, we’ve been experiencing multiple issues with our website’s code:
In the SPP, another shop button pops up at the bottom of the page: https://prnt.sc/w15o78
Our “you may also like” upsell products keep loop-loading, never showing, and sometimes our WP Business Review (version 1.5) content doesn’t load inside the SPP (the static block, seperately loaded shows no issues).
We’ve been scratching our heads for days (didn’t see your ticket update) and now it makes sense, because in the mean time, we didn’t implement any big changes ourselves.
We can’t proceed until we understand what kind of update/changes you’ve made and we might very well have to revert to an older backup (a week back)
Hi Olga,
I’ve edited the breadcrumbs file, replacing H1 with H4 (leaving the titles class), but to no effect, unfortunately. I’ve both edited the xstore/templates/breadcrumbs.php as the xstore-child/templates/breadcrumbs.php
Can you provide a step-by-step approach to fixing the issue? Is it a caching issue or do I need to change anything else?
Hi Rose,
I’ve read that post. Basically, what you’re saying is, there’s no fix.
Is 8theme planning to change the template in the (near) future on this part?
To be honest: anyone looking to tailor and manage their SEO ranking will be knocked off by this template’s limitation. Contrary to how you put it in the other post, it actually is NOT best practice for SEO purposes. It poses a major ranking threat! I’m kind of surprised by this because, up until now I find the entire template to be very professional and well thought out.
I can copy the breadcrumbs file to a templates folder inside my child theme, but then, I would probably run into problems when xstore decides to update the breadcrumbs file in the main theme. I’d rather see you guys changing it for everybody
Hi “nichemarket”,
could you please share with me your described fix?
is ‘t “just” copying the breadcrumbs file to a templates folder inside your child theme and changing the line at the near bottom containing the H1 tags?
Private.
That worked perfectly.
Thanks!
I also have other resources with a ridiculously long url containing /wp-content/uploads/xstore//home/customer/www/my-old-domain.com/public_html/wp-content/
Do you have an info/instruction page available to help remedy?
We have decided to kill off the multiple templates for single products, because frankly, they don’t work. Combination of WPML with multiple SPP templates simply creates too many issues. Maybe something 8theme can keep working on, or provide new elements/objects to use in the default template to enable displaying conditional content (based on brand/category/whatever)
https://prnt.sc/vmbwfi
This is just an example.
Basically any object containing a drop down selector to choose a static block shows the same issue.
I know we have created many static blocks but I don’t suppose there should be a limit on between how many I can choose and select in the drop down, right?
The login credentials from my previous reply should work
Hosting site = http://www.siteground.com
There are 2 testing sites accessible, once logged in. You will need melanie…. etc
Navigating to: Websites, selecting the right website, site tools, you’ll find the MySQL cPanel access under Site in the left side menu
In the meantime we had to make the hard choice of deleting the multiple single product templates and start over. We now find that, after duplicating the main template, there’s a malfunction of the available objects (we cannot add customer HTML block #3, it seems to be missing, object “price” is available twice).
—-update 11/17—
Right now, we’re moving forward with just the main template, assigning it to all products. In the backend though, we would like to continue solving the problem.
For now, please hold off for now on troubleshooting the server side of things and the database. Our developer is working on another part of the website. Let’s continue this after he’s finished (Friday)

Not sure how these particular server logs could shed some light, but here they are.
If you need different input, please let me know. I f you need access to our Siteground hosting account, also, please let me know.
We are now past our going live deadline and need to resolve this quickly!
Hi Olga,
the code resides outside of the wordpress tags: https://prnt.sc/vir4d5
Still, the problem persists: https://prnt.sc/vir32o
Similary, saving individual single product templates don’t retain the changes we’ve made. It seems they’re locked somehow.
Please advise.
Can we perhaps escalate this? First ticket on the subject is November 6th (!) and we need to go live. Already missed our deadline with weeks
Update: Switching the option off and on again seems to have corrected the problem.
Not sure how that could work but it did
Hi Rose, running the update didn’t fix a thing.
The recognizable white hover button on de side of my mobile screen is still gone, and the filters are displayed at the bottom of the page below all of the products and page description
In the meantime (while I’m waiting for Siteground to respond), I should ask:
The line of code you asked for us to implement, is situated between #BEGIN WORDPRESS and #END WORDPRESS.
The guidelines between “BEGIN WordPress” and “END WordPress” are generated dynamically and should only be changed via WordPress filters. Any changes to the guidelines between these marks will be overwritten.
This kind of conflicts with what we’re trying to do here. If this is the problem, where should I put those lines?
Notified our hosting provider Siteground on the issue. Waiting for their reply.

Yes. Its in the .htaccess file
As per your suggestion, .htaccess file edited:
https://prnt.sc/vhl1xj
Please tell me when you think you’ll be able to troubleshoot this, and 2 other related tickets/issues.
If all else fails, we need to delete all of the multiple templates and start from scratch, which will seriously impact our timelines for going live.

Problem remains. We think its because multiple templates cannot interact stable with WPML.
https://prnt.sc/vh0auy
As soon as we change it to NL, no products are visible. Standard WPML setting is that all products should be visible in all languages.
But WPML is the standard, and 8theme claims compatibility.
Can you assist in solving the issue?
I’ve changed the .htaccess file.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t fixed the issue. Problem remains because of language config. For some reason, changing the language from Dutch to English seems to fix it, but most of the times the template doesn’t load into the editor.
Hitting the Publish button also generates the same error again: https://prnt.sc/vh0dmf
(loosely translated: “It seems that something went wrong. Please wait a few seconds and try again”.
Please advise.
Also: for future reference, when you want to change files on server please ask for access credentials to hosting environment instead of installing plugins like WP file manager.
Added “LimitRequestBody 999999” to my .htaccess file.
But now the multiple template editor won’t load at all anymore.
Hosted at Siteground.com, they use a service called “Nginx Direct Delivery” to serve out all of the static content for max speed. I’m told it’s unrelated to this issue, but I thought it’s still worth mentioning
As an example, I’ve translated 1 product, so it’s available in both Dutch & English
btw, “just” saving and not publishing, results in no change in the live website. The mockup/editor keeps the changes, but on live site not visible (also not after clearing cache)
Thanks!
