By default, only search form can be placed there.
If you disable Top bar (Theme Options > Header > Top bar > Enable top bar > Off), the content of “Left side top bar area” will be shown in the header.
Also, you can do some additional customization. File of mentioned header type – center3.php, is placed in /xstore/headers folder. So you can edit this file via the child theme.

You can change Single product layout to Small in Theme Options > Single product page.
In this case, the width of the image will be 382px on desktop.

Real size of this image is 300×300 but container on the single product page is http://prntscr.com/nuxosj It won’t look great independent of theme. You need to upload images with bigger dimensions.

Also, zoom effect shows the real size of images, if you don’t want the zoom you can disable it in Theme Options > E-commerce > Single Product Page.

Have you regenerated thumbnails using one of mentioned plugins?
Also, I recommend to use a graphics editor and prepare product and category images (make them the same size) before uploading it to your media gallery.

You need to Regenerate Thumbnails to apply changes for images. Use Regenerate Thumbnails or Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.

Theme Options > Single product page > Enable slider for gallery images > On.
