Use xstore.pot file. If you plan to translate them to another language you may use Loco Translate plugin. It will be much easier for you to translate theme using this plugin. You need to save translation files in wp-content/languages/themes when adding language.

We use default WP functions for blog images. You can change images size in Settings > Media. Also, add some content for your post and post excerpt will appear.
Or choose grid design type for your blog, it will be more suitable for such images (Theme Options > Blog & Portfolio > Blog).

Do you use third-party plugins? Try to disable them one by one find which one made a problem.

If it does not help, provide, please, admin panel and FTP access.
