Here you can find 3 ways of the theme update – https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-installation/theme-update/
In your case, I would recommend you to create a staging site (full copy of the existing one) and update the theme there first. Then if everything is ok you’ll be able to update the production site. If not then you’ll have a time to fix the issues and only when everything will be fixed update production.

You need to unzip the XStore import files archive > inside folders you will find archives of sliders.
If you need our assistance to make the site looks like the demo, provide temporary wp-admin access.

There is no “Mega menu” option for submenu item in Appearance > Menus settings, it is not a bug, but predefined behavior.
