Wow thats great, so was there anything in particular I was doing wrong as to why it wasn’t working when i tried it, because I did that in change in that particular theme folder but like I said I kept getting an error and it crashed the website?

Ok, so I have attempted to make the change in the parent folder, and as soon as I add that function I get an error and the page won’t load, I take out the code and the page comes back.

Ok I will try and see if they will help me, but since this plugin is packaged into the theme I doubt they will want to help me out since I did not purchase it.

    Thanks again though.

all is good (resolved) that was indeed the issue, the product categories dont show up unless you have a product in it, and I had created a virtual product called NUL and my client had deleted it not knowing it was for that purpose,

    matter resolved thank you,

Ok i remember now, I had made a product called NUL and assigned it to thoses categoreies and now they wont show because for some reason that product is not assigned anymore to them,

but those are in fact correct ID’s as they were working prior to the migration.

Ill let you know if this works

custom.css (I dont know why they name it default.custom.css in the first place but they must have their reasons)

log into you cpanel, go to file manager and to the directory where your wordpress install is located

    public_html/wp-content/themes/royal (most common location)

and select the default.custom.css file and rename it.

You need to go and rename the default.custom.css file on your server in the themes/royal/ directory, change it for custom.css I really dont know why they did it this way but anyways its the only way… they should implement a feature that when you select the custom.css option in the theme options that it either renames it but yeah thats the solution right there, and keep it active in the theme options

Disregard the last statement I wrote that at the same time as you had written the answer… I have understood where the mistake was happening, from now on when I want to get the id’s of products I will search them under ALL Languages in products that way i will have both.

thanks once again for AMAZING support the best I have ever seen.

Finally I can launch this thing 😀

    case resolved

That did the trick Eva thank you.

One last thing after this the site can finally go live…

is there a way to have the abbreviated language selecter EN | FR in the sticky header only?

because my issue is as soon as the people start scroll down on the page they lose the option of changing language, so having it in the sticky header would be ideal.

    thanks,
    Jeff

Everytime I figure im done with this website I just end up finding more issues….

Ive made a page to list all brands… but it actually shows the brand thumbnails in double (since there is 2 versions i guess french and english) but technically there shouldnt be a need to translate brands (for my purposes)

how can i filter out the double brands?

    thanks

Great suggestion Jack, I played with the css afterwards to get things where I wanted them and now that problem is solved… and even better I solved another issue of not having to mod the header-strucure-2.php file everytime theres an update.

    Thanks a bunch all.

    Awsome that worked.

one last question… in the header content that I changed… I was using the space to the left of the logo for the language switcher (wpml) but Ive decided to put it on the top bar and put text in the space left of the logo…

my question is what code do I need to add so that the text gets translated…

ex. Free shipping in canada needs to say livraison gratuit au canada

But since the file header-structure-2.php doesnt automatically translate do I need to add a php function to that sentence of text?

    thanks,
    Jeff

    You guys rock!!!

now quick question… I know I should of maybe done this from the beginning.. but If i upload the child theme as of now… and just transfer all the customizations I have done to files like the header for example I change a few things to the original content but every time there is an update I have to re-upload my header… if I put my custom header folder in the child theme will it work? and what about other files that I have custom edited myself (like the word read more I switched to shop now, but everytime theres an update I have to go back and change it)

    thanks,
    Jeff

Yeah I figured so. I’ll just have to use CSS to make it look like I had it before

    Thanks,

the only issue with keeping my code is that instead of the # and putting a link to the french home page if im anywhere else on the site it will leave that page and go to the home page and the user will have to start his browser again…

Hey sorry for the delay, the brand description issue was correctly resolved using the suggestion that were made.

Im just a little lost with how to integrate WPML to work as you have it in the default content…

although I did not leave it in the top-bar you may visit my site to see where I have put it

but as I have it now they are just empty links, How do I add the code for the English and Francais text to switch to their according languages?

    thanks

Ok so I had to go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting and then at the very bottom reset and de-activate

then went to the plugins page deleted the plugin and deleted all files. I then re-uploaded the plugin and this time it prompted me with the correct initial start-up configuration settings.

    Thank you for your time.

I have read over and over the 2 documentation files that Robert has provided before asking for support.

I have also tried the remove ghost entries in the link that Eva has supplied. It has not worked. I cannot do step 2 of that proposed method because my pages are only available in 1 language which is english which happen to be inactive, and if I delete them, then I lose all my pages I have created which is not where im trying to go.
