Hello,
I tried filtering produt search results and the price filter doesn’t work as expected.
Also, if it is possible, I want the product results to be sorted as my default sorting option. I see that the results are sorted by relevance and it doesn’t follow the product archieve sorting selection I’ve made (price low-to-high).
Thank you very much for your support!
Have a nice day.
Hello, PanosN,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We would like to bring to your attention that the widgets displayed on the search results page reflect the same product count as those on the Shop page. This is because they source their values from the global products database table. At present, there is no functionality available to modify this behavior.
About sorting, please provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access, and we will check your request more deeply.
For FTP access, we require the following details: FTP host, FTP username, FTP password, FTP port, and FTP encryption type. If you need assistance in creating these credentials, please reach out to your hosting provider who will guide you through the process.
Best Regards,

Is there a way to change this?
It is very important for customers to be able to use filters to filter out the product search results by category, brand or whatever.
We deal with many customers’ complaints about this issue.
Also, we would like the search results to be shorted by price low-to-high.
Thank you very much for you kind help.
Kind regards.

Yes. The website has been migrated to the production domain.
Dear @PanosN,
We hope this message finds you well. We have completed our evaluation regarding the customization of search result sorting within the WooCommerce plugin. Our findings indicate that the ‘orderby’ parameter is hardcoded to ‘relevance’ on the search page, as shown here: https://prnt.sc/F2wWM-8kRYSY. Consequently, we are unable to modify this parameter directly through our current setup. We recommend that you contact WooCommerce support directly to address this request, as they are best equipped to assist you with modifications to the core plugin functionality.
Additionally, we have recorded your request concerning the implementation of working filters on the search results page. This task has been added to our to-do list for further investigation. Please note that this is not currently classified as a high-priority issue, but we will certainly explore this possibility once we have addressed more critical tasks.
Should you require this functionality urgently, we invite you to submit a request for additional customization at the following link: https://www.8theme.com/account/#etheme_customization_panel.
Thank you for your understanding and patience. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to assisting you further.

This is a high-priority issue for us and a serious deal breaker for our customers. There are other well-known themes of competitor companies that provide this built-in functionality already.
We realy want to keep using your theme and choose it for our next ecommerce customers’ projects, but without this crusial functionality the final product is incomplete and lacks terribly compaired to the competition out there.
The end user should be able to easily find the products they search for by filtering them by price or brand or other attributes. The search result page should contain working filters, otherwise it is not usefull for e-shops with a lot of products.
Please inform us if there is a way to implement a third-party plugin to achieve this functionality, until you find some time to implement this in your theme in the future.
Dear @PanosN,
We hope this message finds you well. We would like to inquire if you could kindly share with us which themes provide the functionality to sort results by date or price type. Upon review, we have noted that this feature appears to be hardcoded in WooCommerce and, as such, cannot be modified via any filters or actions.
For filtering by attributes or categories, we recommend utilizing the default WooCommerce widgets that can be added to the sidebar. We acknowledge that there may be a need for improvements in our own widgets to ensure they function correctly as well.
Additionally, you might consider testing with AJAX filters disabled to see if that impacts the functionality.
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to your response.

Woodmart Theme has both functionalities:
– Sorting search results
– Filtering product search results by price, brand, colors etc.
Just to clarify, the functionality that is crusial to be fixed is the filtering with the widgets. Not the sorting functionality.
We tried to use the default Woocommerce widgets for example to filter by price, but they do not seem to work.
I am not sure if you use the default search of Woocommerce for them to work.
We even tried to use a third-party plugin (Filter Everything) that didn’t work on the search results page either.
As far as I know, we haven’t AJAX filters enabled. We have disabled them in the past because we had I different issue back then and you advised us to disable it.
Any type of help will be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards.

Dear Support Team,
I hope this email finds you well. I’m writing to follow up on an ongoing issue we’ve been experiencing with the search page filter functionality, which we’ve been addressing for several months now.
Could you please provide an update on the progress towards resolving this issue? This functionality is crucial for both our business and our customers’ satisfaction.
Unfortunately, due to the prolonged nature of this problem, we’ve already had to migrate one customer to an alternative theme (Woodmart) to meet their immediate needs.
We’re actively working to convince our current customers who are affected by this issue to wait until the problem is fixed. A timely resolution would greatly assist in these efforts and prevent further migrations to other themes.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to hearing about any developments or potential timelines for a fix.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards.
