The Evolution of WordPress in 2015 and Beyond

From 27 May 2003 when the first full WordPress version appeared and up to this day there have been more than 80 updates new version releases. Among the most popular versions of WordPress themes and engines are:

 WordPress 0.71 - Gold (released May 2003)

A website’s page opens by default is the page at the same time writing a new post. As you can see, the control panel as such did not exist. Functions were very limited, and all was generally very simple. All you were allowed, it adds posts category. Tedious installation process required input uymy things manually.

WordPress 2.0 - Duke (released in December 2005)

Named in honor of Duke Ellington, this version was the first, in which you will notice significant changes in the user interface. In the admin there was a big blue header, from which later all the same refuse. This is the first version where the full version of WYSIWIG editor. Also in this release was submitted plugin Akismet Spam Protection. The rest of the new features: image uploader and file previews template using thumbnail.png, improved administration capabilities using AJAX, improved speed of publication and a host of new opportunities for developers.

WordPress 2.1 - Ella (January 2007)

This time the release of a WordPress template was named after Ella Fitzgerald. This version of WordPress has a lot of new features. The most notable are the control panel interface for quick work, spell checking and own comments menu.

WordPress 2.5 - Brecker (released in March 2008)

The developers named this version in honor of Michael Brecker. We see a completely new control panel interface. The WP admin has a lot of useful information and the console panel has become much easier. This was the first version, where the plug-ins is on WordPress.org, it became possible to update a single click. Fully enhanced WYSIWYG editor and a built gallery were also included in this WordPress release.

In 2014 there were released 3 major versions of WordPress. We created our genuine WooCommerce themes including the new features of the engine:

• WordPress 3.9 Smith – the release date is the 16^th of April of 2015 was bugged and that is why soon new versions were developed;
• WordPress 4.0 Benny – released on the 4^th of September – used by 25% of all WordPress users;
• WordPress 4.1 Dinah released on December 18^th fixed many bugs with WooCommerce plugin interaction.

It is known for sure you will have three new versions of WordPress - 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4, that will be released in April, August and December of 2015.

Among the expected features of WP engine:

Use of the menu in the Customizer in all WordPress templates. The possibility of adding new items and their permutations - it's convenient. In WordPress 4.2 version you will be able to type automatically the so-called “pretty” URLs (Pretty Permalinks) for the posts. SEO optimization process necessarily involves setting these URLs to your blog. The format of new links will default to look like /% year% /% monthnumber% /% day% /% postname%. Custom admin panel that can be added to WooCommerce themes. Meaning the ability to customize WordPress admin part to fit your needs both visually (graphically) and functional. I understand that there are different now paid opportunities to implement these tasks (or via plug-ins), but in the future they will become more accessible.

Front-end editing. This option allows you to edit content on the site without entering the admin area. That is, you click on the paragraph of text and a small pop-up window where you can change the design. This trend in 2015 is typical for many CMS.
