    Hi there!

I’m having trouble fixing a link preview issues on my site – For some reason Facebook is not showing the correct link preview images.
I’ve added them to the xstore seo settings as well as yoast social. When checked in a social preview checker online all is perfect but the Facebook Sharing Debugger shows them all wrong. When I share the link in a post/comment/chat the image is not correct.

You can see it here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/?q=https%3A%2F%2Flumi-baby.com%2F

I’ve read about cache issues and plugin conflicts online but haven’t been successful so far. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance!
    Best wishes,
    Ana

Since I have opened this topic, I’ll use it – I have an issue with the template for the Product archive page with the xstore builder. I chose my template (the same as the theme style) but when my content got incorporated, the products are styled weirdly. Take a look here: https://prnt.sc/XtoDkllAw3TQ

I checked every setting, custom css and whatnot – there is no reason for this extra space. I’d like to make it look exactly the same as the shop page – https://lumi-baby.com/shop/

If you could take a look, please let me know what could be the fix.

    Thanks again!

    Hello @Anastasia,

Please check the provided wp-admin access and share the correct one: https://prnt.sc/Z_8RAPUSvBNa. Additionally, kindly attach the URL of the post and provide more details with screenshots showing the incorrect Facebook sharing action, as we were unable to find any related post on your website.

Regarding the incorrect layout of products on your shop page, please navigate to XStore -> Theme Options -> WooCommerce -> Shop Layout -> Pagination and set it to “Default” If it is set to “Ajax Pagination” it may conflict with the shop archive layout built with the Elementor builder.

If you require our assistance, please verify the dashboard access and provide the correct credentials so that we can help you resolve these issues.

I’m truly sorry about the credentials, I don’t know what has happened.

I figured out the issue with the links, thanks! (btw it was the Cyrillic names of the images)

Changing the Pagination to “Default” truly fixed the template but now I can’t get it to show the pages, I still get the 404 error. I tried different display conditions but nothing worked. I did clean the cache, wait, etc. https://prnt.sc/yPd4sFi6FqKP

I’m sorry, this may seem very silly to you but I really can’t understand why the page isn’t working. Thank you again for the time and help.

    Best wishes,

    Hello @Anastasia,

We have checked but did not find any 404 error. Could you please clarify where you are encountering this error or specify the actions required to reproduce the issue on our side?

Regarding the conditions, if you need one template for all product archives (product categories, tags, and the main shop), it is correct to set the “All Product Archives” condition, which we have already configured for you: https://prnt.sc/Tc0cZeqxkAM4.

In your case, there are 15 products displayed on your main shop page, and there is no pagination or additional scrolling to load more products because all items are already visible (you have 15 items: https://prnt.sc/-I6tKkJJ96_a, and the display setting is 15 items per page: https://prnt.sc/tpog4flymRO8). If you add more products or reduce the number of items displayed per page, the infinite scrolling feature will activate to load additional products (for example, if you set 5 products per page in Theme Options: https://gyazo.com/4db89c3a0daf79fcd649b6609fa9e18f).

    Hi Jack,

I think I might have explained the issue wrong – I want the product category pages to work. The main shop page is working great, no issues there. You can see the following pages that do not work:

    https://lumi-baby.com/product-category/play/
    https://lumi-baby.com/product-category/accessories/
    https://lumi-baby.com/product-category/bundles/

    All categories are here: https://lumi-baby.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=product_cat&post_type=product

Isn’t the product archive builder for that purpose? This was my understanding. Woocoomerce usually work with those pages and they are searchable. I get traffic from google and this is way I get them fixed.

    Thank you.

    Best wishes,
    Anastasia

    Hello @Anastasia,

If you have some issue with non-opening product categories, please, check the Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks and also contact to your hosting provider to check if there are no additional redirections set on your server, as product categories can be viewed by opening the link from it’s setting -> https://prnt.sc/BGyaIm28404r but currently some of such links redirect to the product page.

The archive products builder is responsible only for the frontend display (https://prnt.sc/jWhjo_T6m8W2) of such pages as the main shop, product taxonomy pages, brand pages, and similar. The link you provided for editing a category refers to the main information related to that category (https://woocommerce.com/document/managing-product-taxonomies/).

If you would like to modify the frontend layout for specific product categories, for example, the “Хранене” category, you can create a custom archive products template with a specific design (or duplicate the current one and make changes) and set the appropriate condition to apply this layout only to that product category: https://gyazo.com/de4d7a743c32eb6be6f4190203716e6e.

You can find more information about our builders in our documentation: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/xstore-builders/

    Hi Jack,

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I’m at a loss how to explain the issue better since your explanation shows exactly that there’s an issue.

In paragraph 1 you talked about the Permalinks and the view page setting (https://prnt.sc/BGyaIm28404r). But when I click on view the category pages, I get either a 404 error or redirection – this is not set from the hosting/server, neither from me.

In paragraph 3 you talk about the display conditions and I did try that. You also did set them up in your previous message but that didn’t change the 404 error. I tried to both apply to all categories and to target specific category one at a time. No change.

Obviously this is an issue specifically for my site as you have it working in the demo – https://xstore.8theme.com/elementor2/kids-toys/product-category/accessories/

I wish I knew what more I could look for but I don’t, so I kindly ask you for any other advice. Is there maybe a place where I could turn it on? I’ve used the Kids toys template and built the site on it, this has been an issue from the start.

    – And I have 2 more questions for when we fix this and have both the shop page and the category pages work:
    1. How do I make the design be the same on the pages? The categories can be edited in Elementor but the shop page is only edited in the theme settings.
    2. How do I get the variation swatches to show up in the Shop page? https://prnt.sc/hBNHY-cHylcP I saw no settings in the Theme settings -> Woocommerce (I checked all options), and in the Elementor editor I only got so far (on hover) https://prnt.sc/H_FruMWrcxqE

Thank you again for your time and assistance!

    Best wishes,
    Anastasia

PS. I’ve also changed the Product archive page to draft for now but feel free to publish it if you want.

    Hello @Anastasia,

We have reviewed the issue and found that, since your website is multilingual, the incorrect link problem may be related to the WPML plugin settings. This plugin allows for extensive configuration of various taxonomies and post types. We also found a similar topic on their official forum: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/product-category-show-in-404-page/. However, the solution provided there does not appear to resolve the issue on your website. Therefore, we kindly recommend contacting WPML Support, as they can provide more specific assistance regarding their plugin configurations.

Please note that the issue is not related to the demo you installed or the theme used on your website, but rather to the settings within the mentioned plugin. Since you have already installed and purchased this plugin, we suggest submitting your inquiry on their support forum.

We would also like to ask you to address your questions step by step so that we can provide the best possible support without mixing different topics. Below is a brief summary of your questions:

    1. Once you set the “Archive Shop Page” condition, the design will be applied to all shop, product category, and product tag archive pages. Additionally, in some widgets within the editor, you can use dynamic tags (https://developers.elementor.com/docs/dynamic-tags/). For example: https://gyazo.com/03ea004881e93ac8c62012f6bf684d62 and https://gyazo.com/2876d79adb0468fb77ccfbeedf5c8040. If you are looking for specific configuration options for the product category page, please provide more details, and we will be happy to assist you further.

    2. Swatches are automatically displayed on products if you enable the following option in Archive Products widget in Archive products builder: https://prnt.sc/MD3kNe7AzRxE. These swatches will appear only for products that are correctly configured. If you use custom attributes (https://prnt.sc/HIgsTds_FBaC), they will not be displayed as variation swatches because they are local attributes. Swatches can only be shown for global attributes, which you can set in Dashboard → Products → Attributes (https://prnt.sc/rfyKWSS5DABg), and then assign to your product: https://gyazo.com/67eccc5fe86b7c76626a0fa66b6fb0f1. Please refer to the documentation for detailed instructions on configuring swatches: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/video-tutotials/variation-swatches-3/.

    Hi Jack,

THANK YOU so very much. Yes, indeed it was a conflict with WPML, it’s fixed!

    1. When I added the Shop page to the display conditions, for me (logged in user) the design was as in the Builder, but for not logged in people the Shop page was completely broken. I tried fixing it but my only solution so far has been to remove the page from the builder display conditions. Could it be a conflict with the theme options?

    2. I turned on the necessary option and even though I have already set up global attributes, they’re not showing. If you have any idea what could be the issue, please let me know.

Thank you once again. You’ve been extremely helpful and informative.

    Best wishes,
    Anastasia

    Hello @Anastasia,

We are glad to hear that you have resolved the issue with permalinks. We would appreciate it if you could share the solution you found so that other customers and our team can better understand it in case similar questions are submitted on our support forum. If possible, please include some screenshots of the WPML settings you configured.

    1. Regarding the issue with the incorrect layout, please note that since you are using the WP Rocket plugin, its main purpose is to cache content to improve loading speed. We recommend temporarily disabling this plugin if your website is still under development, or clearing the WP Rocket cache (https://prnt.sc/LVtri6igffcP) after making modifications such as switching to a builder template for your Shop page. Please also remember to follow the recommendations for correct layout display in the builder template provided here: https://www.8theme.com/topic/issue-with-showing-the-wrong-link-preview-image/#post-465280.

    2. If your product is out of stock, the swatches may not be displayed. Otherwise, there may be a configuration issue that we need to review. Could you please share the URL of a correctly configured product? Also, let us know whether the issue occurs on the single product page or on the main Shop archive page. You may attach the product link in the private area if necessary.

    Hi Jack,

So the WPML issue was that it was missing a translation for the slug configuration in Bulgarian.

About 1 – clearing the WP Rocket cache alone did nothing so I decided to deactivate WP Rocket for the test, and yes, that’s the problem. It’s the Optimize CSS delivery -> Remove unused CSS option that’s breaking the design. I added this URL to the safelist and now it’s ok I guess – /wp-content/themes/xstore/xstore.min.css Is this the correct CSS file? If there’s a better one to safelist, please let me know.

About 2 – Most of the products on the Shop are with global settings, here’s one for example: https://lumi-baby.com/products/bundle-steel/
I’ve followed all guidelines but the swatches are not showing. I suspect that there may be an option that’s not configured because I may not have understood it correctly as the Bulgarian translation of the theme is not great. If it’s that I’m deeply deeply sorry.

As always, thank you very much for your time and help.

    Best wishes,
    Anastasia

    Hello @Anastasia,

Thank you for clarifying the issue related to WPML.

Regarding the configuration of WP Rocket, please follow the recommendations provided in our documentation: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/troubleshooting/how-to-improve-wp-rocket-settings-with-xstore/.

Concerning the swatches issue, we reviewed the single product you shared, and the swatches are displayed correctly: https://gyazo.com/19de7462a59220f1e7c310fcf3f562a6. However, upon further inspection (https://prnt.sc/YlsPLjIOs_–), we noticed that you are not using our built-in swatches functionality. Although the design on your single product page appears similar, this is why the swatches are not visible on the Shop page. We also found that the “Variation Swatches for WooCommerce” plugin is active on your site (https://prnt.sc/XUGW3Wp919ko).

If you prefer to use the swatches from that plugin, we recommend contacting the plugin’s author for guidance on how to display product swatches using hooks in a custom product layout with non-default product widgets. For example, they may advise you on how to display the swatches using the following hook: do_action('after_etheme_product_grid_list_product_element_title')

Alternatively, you can disable the mentioned plugin and create swatches for your products following the video tutorial we previously provided. Should you require our assistance with this process, we will be happy to help.

    Hi Jack,

I decided to remove the Variation swatches plugin and just add the colors to the attributes. But now I have this issue – I use 1 attribute to several products but the swatches are shown only on one of them? https://prnt.sc/r3s5kGpSan3d This might be a setting but I can’t find it?

Also, very weird, I haven’t done any changes since my last reply but the images in the product archive page builder and respectively in the connected shop pages disappeared ? – https://prnt.sc/yQFgW6U4Hwt0 I tried republishing, deleting cache, deactivating WP Rocket and WPML, nothing helped. When you click on a product the images are there. (I removed the Shop page once again from the display conditions because my shop is up and running and I can’t be having a page with no photos.) Do you have any ideas what could be the issue? I also updated the theme and all plugins but it didn’t help as well.

    Best wishes,
    Anastasia

    Hello @Anastasia,

    1. Regarding the issue of swatches not being displayed on some products, we have noticed that certain products are configured as Variable in the backend (https://prnt.sc/1eL2mS_S9lpD), but appear as Simple products on the frontend (shop page) (https://prnt.sc/Hhd5NJd7bmzT). It seems that some variable products have been converted to simple products. This is why the swatches are not visible, as they are only displayed for variable products.

This issue may be caused by a database error during the update process or by other customizations. Please note that this problem is not related to our theme, as we have found similar reports from other users on the official WooCommerce support forum who are using different themes (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/variable-products-are-showing-as-simple-products-in-backend/).

We kindly recommend contacting WooCommerce support for further assistance in resolving this issue. They should be able to help identify the cause of the product type changes and provide an appropriate solution.

    2. Regarding the issue with incorrect or missing images, it appears that this may be caused by an additional plugin you have installed, which replaces the default “img” tag with a “picture” tag. According to the plugin’s description, this setting may disrupt the structure (https://prnt.sc/1WzOTRVlZkrU). After disabling this option and clearing the cache in WP Rocket, the frontend display was corrected (https://prnt.sc/BeOOT11spmG5).

    Hello Jack,

I managed to fix the swatches issue somehow yesterday but as I was testing a different cache plugin now (Litespeed + redis), all swatches are now gone. Even on a product page, the styling is gone, there’s a dropdown menu instead. I deactivated everything but I can’t get it back. What could be the reason? https://prnt.sc/NszsfAikZWQ- https://prnt.sc/NM7VNOZIMzK3 (settings are as they were)

About 2 “After disabling this option and clearing the cache in WP Rocket, the frontend display was corrected (https://prnt.sc/BeOOT11spmG5).”
This is working correctly because I had removed the Shop page from the display conditions (mentioned in my previous reply as well). This isn’t an issue with the other plugin because it isn’t fixed when I deactivate it. I tried using a troubleshooting plugin but I reactivated all plugins in the test environment and this didn’t happen. I can’t find an explanation on why is it happening. This is happening only in the builder and for the pages that display it’s design.

    Dear @Anastasia,

We have investigated the reason why the mentioned attributes were set to the default “Select” type on your Single products. Upon checking, we found that the attribute type was configured as “Select” (https://prnt.sc/oerSFmbRiZ1i). We have now changed it to the “Color” type (https://prnt.sc/nDpLpyg62Zk8). After making this adjustment, we verified the product, and the swatches are now displayed correctly (https://prnt.sc/zQ9hma-x6-oC). Please note that we have applied this modification to all of your attributes, so you can review them accordingly.

We also examined the issue with images not appearing when using the Archive Products builder. The problem was caused by the Image Scale setting being set to 0 (https://prnt.sc/8JPzhMjevY_n). We have corrected this by restoring the default value of 1, and the images are now displayed properly (https://prnt.sc/isQruFoLVcUf). As you can see, the correctly configured swatches are also visible on the shop page for some products.

We kindly recommend reviewing the tutorial on creating swatches, as it appears the documentation may not have been fully followed. This is only a suggestion to help prevent similar issues in the future.

At this point, it seems that all your issues have been resolved. If everything is working correctly, please mark this topic as closed. Otherwise, kindly provide details of any remaining issues, and we will be happy to assist you further.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson
