Google PageSpeed Insights says that my already optimized images should be optimized. I have optimized the pictures in adobe photoshop for web and also in tinypng. I think it’s because of scaling issue because psi says only thumbnails images ned to be optimized.

    Hello,

I have checked image of your product and see that tinypng could optimize it http://prntscr.com/kvrcjm
If you have messages about image optimization you need to look for ways to optimize images, our theme don’t have optimization option for the image size, unfortunately.

Also, if you are looking for ways to speed up site speed and get better GTMetrix results I would recommend you to create staging site and update theme to version 5.0 beta https://xstore.8theme.com/
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/xstore.8theme.com/qLt11G0U . It includes a lot of improvements of the site speed https://xstore.8theme.com/update-history/

Video tutorial “how to update theme from 4.x to 5.x version” you can find here https://youtu.be/I7wPeHEPb6E
If you provide Dashboard and FTP access to your site we can help you with theme update.

    Regards

    Hi Rose

Thanks for your reply. I have tried to optimized the images so they can’t optimized any more in tinypng. But PSI still say images should be optimized. And the alert is only on my Catalog Images(230×153) and not the original images(750×500) that is weird. Is that a common issue on Xstore version 4X?

Will update to 5X version fix the issue?

    Best Regards

If test the image only PSI says the image is optimized
    https://prntscr.com/kvsg10

But testing the site PSI says need to optimize the image
    https://prntscr.com/kvsfwy

So the issue is not the image but the setting of the site! Any idea how to fix this?

    Best regards

    Hello,

No, it’s not the common issue of the XStore theme. Try to enable the Storefront theme and check if you have the notice about images. Have you cleared plugin cache after image optimization? Maybe it displays just the old cached version of images?

    Regards

    Hi Olga

    Thanks for your reply.

I have activated the Storefront theme and have regenerated thumbnails with Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, cleared plugin cache but still have the notices.
    https://prnt.sc/kwb9mf

With Storefront theme PSI still says the thumbnail images need to optimizes
    https://prnt.sc/kwbal2

Testing one of the image only PSI says the image is optimized
    https://prnt.sc/kwbagc

So the issue is not Xstore theme or images.

Maybe it displays just the old cached version of images?
I have tried to change the images and their titel also but the notices just say the new images(with new titles) need to optimizes. The notes are only on the thumbnail images.

    Kind Regards

I have tested the thumbnail image with size 230×150. PSI say the picture can optimize further.
    https://prnt.sc/kwfdc4

But if I tested the original image there aren’t notification.
    https://prnt.sc/kwfdgv

    Any help?

    Best Regards

    Hello,

WordPress automatically generates the thumbnails. It would be better to post this question on the WordPress or WooCommerce support forum. We are able to help only if the issue is related to our theme, unfortunately.

    Regards
