    I have also tried installing the woopress core plugin 1.1.0 via ftp in my dev environment as part of my Woopress 6.0 update testing.

    It fails on trying to create the directory; woopress-core/inc/img. however I could see that the img directory was created on the server (it is empty)

    I have downloaded the file again, extracted and tried uploading again ,same result.

    I have also tried by same method as previous posters via plugins menu on dashboard and get the same error message as they have reported.

    I then tried deactivating the plugin and then updating it (got the same ftp error) and then activating. This time it is now showing as 1.1.0 and active! The img directory is created and still empty.

    Anyway, thought I would pass this on in case it helps others. Will carry on testing …..

    PS My environment shows as meeting all system requirements in the new theme dashboard.

    Cheers.

    Hi Rose, I have tried using another PC to administer the site today, and everything is working as expected on this machine! I had cleared the cache etc on the other pc, in both edge and chrome, so all a bit odd really.

    I have not used wp-admin on this pc for a month or so.

    Apologies for the “false” alarm. Will crosscheck issues on different machines in the future 😉

    Cheers.

    Additionally, I have started seeing a “Welcome to Woopress – You’re almost ready to start selling” message. With “Run the Setup Wizard” button. A but odd since it has already been selling product for a couple of years …

    Rose, are you actually clicking on that preview button? I get either 404 or you are not allowed to preview message. Tried two different browsers and three admin user accounts including yours.

    Hmm, getting weirder.

    The one that you copied wouldn’t work for me.

    I went to look at your test product and got a “Sorry, you are not allowed to preview drafts” message. So maybe a permission change in the latest version of WordPress?

    Hi Rose, I have been using the create duplicate option. You will see the latest products at the top of the list. If you duplicate one and preview I get the error.

    I have managed to fix this by moving dynamic.css to wp-content/uploads and creating a symlink for dynamic.css in the woopress dir.

    I was having issues because it turns out that the windows GIT bash tool can not create symlinks using usual commands (despite selecting the option to create symlinks during GIT app install) and I had to create a linux vm to run the commands to create the symlink in the cloned git repository and push it back up.

    I reverted the changes made to functions.php beforehand.

    Cheers.

    Pantheon say that I have to move the dynamic.css file to uploads and create a symlink in the woopress folder. Uploads (symlink to files) is the only writable section in Test and Live environments.

    Thank you Rose.

    I have created the empty dynamic.css in woopress-child theme folder (under plugins) and updated the functions.php as below;

    <?php add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘theme_enqueue_styles’ );
    function theme_enqueue_styles() {
    wp_enqueue_style( ‘child-style’, get_stylesheet_uri(), array( ‘bootstrap’, ‘parent-style’ ) );
    wp_enqueue_style( 'dynamic-css', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/dynamic.css' );
    }

    After pushing to test, I still get the error

    Unable to write to file /srv/bindings/big_long_code_here/code/wp-content/themes/woopress/dynamic.css

    Have I edited the functions.php file incorrectly?

    Resolved

    Issue turned out to be browser cache related (across multiple devices and ISP’s) presumably related to migration process.

    New host has Dev / Test and Live, was working in Dev but not Test / Live.

    Live & learn 😉

    Cheers.

    Hi Rose, unfortunately that has made no changes. I cleared cache and reloaded etc.

    The issue seems to be related to specifying a text size for the Menu text. The default is too small for my layout, but it seems to line up properly.

    Hi Rose, thank you for the screen shot. I am not referring to the pop up sub-menus but the main menu items, “Home” “Shop” “My Account” etc. You will see that “Home” and “Newsletter” are aligned differently to the centre three items which have the submenu dropdown arrow at the bottom right of each. I would like all of the text menu items to line up.

    Hi Rose,

    I have inserted this code into the custom css section and enabled the custom css, but there has been no change.

    This issue has not repeated with any subsequent transactions, so can be considered resolved. Thank you.

    Hi Eva, that is part of the issue, I cannot replicate the fault.

    The user managed to get to lowest price of the variable product, not the price for the actual variation purchased, and also got the flat rate shipping base rate without the shipping class calculated portion.

    Can you please advise an email address to use for the required account?

    Regards,

    Blair

    Hello, thank you. I’ll leave those alone in that case.

    Regarding the first part of my Thread, do you have any caching configuration recommendations that will not affect the shopping cart (cart totals would not update as items were added / removed)?
