Hi Rose,
Thank you!
Hi Rose,
Thank you!
Hi Olga,
3) Any update on this issue being resolved? I have been waiting since January 10th.
Thanks
So I reached out to the Relevanssi plugin developer and he has strived to make his plugin compatible with all of the big themes, and he is interested in making compatible with your theme as well.
The plugin developer provide this code for me to enter into functions.php and it allowed me to add WooCommers Product and Product Taxonomies (i.e. Product Tags, Variations, etc.) to your themes Live Search:
add_filter( ‘etheme_ajax_search_products_query’, function( $args ) {
$args[‘relevanssi’] = true;
return $args;
} );
He said that in order to make all other Post Types and Taxonomies to be compatable with your theme is for you to simply add a filter hook to the post search, it’d be one line of code, and then it would be easy to make that search use Relevanssi indexing queries.
The plugin developer provided this: “Could you please add a filter for the get_posts() arguments in
get_posts_results() in class-ajax-search.php, matching the etheme_ajax_search_products_query filter in get_products_results()?”
This would allow the users of your theme to use Relevanssi for searching Product Tags and any other Post Type and custom Taxonomy as they see fit, and the plugin is free to do all of this. They have a premium version, but this is not necessary for the Post Types I have mentioned.
Please let me know if this can be accommodated? Thank you for your time.
Hi Olga,
1) Please see my response in “Private Content Area”.
2) Understood. It is better for me to use Single Product Builder for my customization, so I will continue to use that, and I will have to work within its limitations. Thanks for explaining.
3) How is this coming along?
Thank you for your time.
Hi Olga,
Actually, Relevanssi creates a custom search index and replaces the internal WordPress search. So what I am trying to do is turn off the XStore search queries/index within your live search and allow Relevanssi to provide the search queries with its index instead. I hope this makes sense.
Hi Olga,
Is there anyway that you can help me implement the Relevanssi search plugin into the theme’s live search plugin so that users can search product tags. I have added the Relevanssi search plugin and setup the queries and it appears that the plugin is working for the search, but not the live search. I did a search on the comments section and it looks like someone else was able to get it setup here: https://www.screencast.com/t/7IZ7k2YPsU but I cannot seem to get it working. This is the plugins knowledge base https://www.relevanssi.com/category/knowledge-base/ Do you have any knowledge of how to get this functioning with your theme? Thank you for your time.
Hi Olga,
1) In that case, is there a way for me to choose which Product Category shows in the breadcrumbs?
2) I guess I understand what you are saying. However, your single product page on your website (https://xstore.8theme.com/product/singoalla-short-dress/) can have the browser window shrunk down and the page elements go where they are supposed to without the page having to be recycled. Why is this? I would like my single product page to act like your demo site.
3) Sounds good. Thank you.
Hi Olga,
1) The “< Return to previous page" is now showing. Thank you. However, I noticed that the wrong Category is showing in the left side Breadcrumbs. Further information is available in the “Private Content Area”.
2) The content is presented correctly on a mobile device now. Thank you. However, I am concerned with how the content is presented within a PC sized browser window as the size of the browser window changes. For example, when the internet browser is fully shrunk down, the left side content (i.e. product title, product short description) is still floating in front of or behind the product images (depending on the internet browser used) and the right side content (i.e. product variations, add to cart, etc) are not shown at all. Can you please address this?
3) I have added FTP Access to the “Private Content Area”. Thanks
Hi Olga,
Understood. I look forward to the fix on the QV and show selected variations within a theme update soon.
Thank you.
Hi Olga,
Thank you for fixing this. It looks good!
Hi Olga,
I will give it a try. Hopefully it works good. Thank you for your help!
Hi Olga,
I do see that option. However, the live search does not show results for product tags. For example, my product has a tag named “t-shirt” and I have that tag listed in the tags section within the live search, but when I click on the tag “t-shirt” no products are found. Is there any known way to add product tag searching to your live search bar?
Thank you
I am attaching a video within the Private content area for you to watch and see a more detailed explanation of the issue that is going on.
I DO see that searching for product tags has been added and completed within the Taskboard here: https://www.screencast.com/t/lTvofWT7o5sP
But I do not see an option for this anywhere within the theme customization tools. Please advise.
Sounds good. I created a new translation file and saved it to the custom file location for the XStore Theme and XStore Core plugin. Inside of the Loco Translation plugin I searched for the term ‘Brand’ and changed all of the terms to Collection. Everything looks changed now.
Additional question: Would there be any benefit to change the Taxonomy ‘Brand’ term to ‘Collection’ as well? I have a plugin named TaxoPress https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-tags/ and it allows you to change the Taxonomy terms so that everything matches the changes I made in the translation files.
Thanks
Hi Rose,
I am going to use the Loco Translate plugin. Do I create a translation file or do I simply edit the theme and plugin files you mentioned via the translation plugin? If I change the Brands string in the theme and core plugin via the translation plugin, do the changes stay when the them is updated, or do I need to change it after every theme update?
Thank you.
Hi Jackson,
For international orders it is, but not for domestic ordering within the USA. Please try a United States Zip Code such as 85295.
Please advise…
Thanks for the advise. I was able to pin the issue down to one plugin, and I have fixed the issue.
Cheers!
Any update on this?
Hi Olga,
I deactivated and deleted the theme on the other domains and am still unable to use your theme on my new domain. Here are some login credentials for the new domain I want to use. Please activate the theme, thanks.
Robert,
Thanks for getting the code to work. It looks great.
Hi Robert,
I tried your code, but the CSS code does not seem to have an effect on the area for some reason. Please advise…
Eva,
Awesome! Thanks for your help.
Hi Eva,
That worked! Can you please help me make the shopping cart and search icons Black in color?
Eva,
I also need the header background color changed but the theme options doesn’t work. I need the background color to be #333333. Thanks
Hi Eva,
The code for the Share Icons worked, but the code for the Terms and Privacy links did not. Please advise…
Also, how do I change the color of the clicked on menu links and hover colors, as well as the shopping and search icons? Thanks
The add to cart button was there just 30 minutes ago, but when I changed the permalinks to fix the Contracts plugin, now I am having the add to cart button issue. Can you help me figure out a solution?
Thanks
Eva,
Now I am having issues with the add to cart button on my products pages. The add to cart button is no longer visible since I changed the permalinks. Please advise….
