Hi, sorry yes the arrow scrolling appears okay now – although I always clear cache’s after updates. All thumbnail/main product images are prepared at around the same size already when uploaded to media.

I have read the link about image size for the thumbnails, but it does not mention about the second image that goes small – not the main thumbnail but the second and other images that show if you click the pink side arrow. This other images are half the size of the original thumbnail making them blurry and the ‘select options’ bar moves up higher. Like the middle image on this link: https://prnt.sc/1zsxx93

How can I make the images all appear the same size as the full sized thumbnail?

I attach the FTP details I forgot earlier. Debbie

    HI,

I am not confident enough to do this manually myself. If I just update Woocommerce and not the theme, is it better for me to wait until you release the next theme update? Debbie

    Hi,

Thanks. I have added that and now the staging site is fine.

I have not done the updates on the live site yet so I am likely to get the same problem. As i do not know how you fixed it on the staging site what do I do when I update the Theme if the same problem happens on the live site?

I use my host’s cache plugin, it is the SiteGround Optimizer plugin. Debbie

Thank you for looking at this although there are still some problems.

The ‘active filters’ at the bottom of the left column and the ‘clear all filters’ is missing. On the live site if you choose filters it shows you here what options have been selected. This bit is all missing. (see https://www.swankypins.co.uk/product-category/stockings/ compared to staging site https://www.staging5.swankypins.co.uk/product-category/stockings/

Also, I don’t know how, but whatever has been done has affected my live site. The filters option is now displaying as it does on a mobile so they are not visible on the page until you click the icon.

If you look at https://www.swankypins.co.uk/product-category/suspenderbelts/ you can see the filters have completely disappeared. However on another category https://www.swankypins.co.uk/product-category/stockings/ they are still there.

Can you please look at this again, I didn’t mind waiting a week for the staging site to be looked at, but now the live site isn’t displaying properly so I would be grateful if this could be fixed as quickly as possible please. I have not been able to do the updates on there yet. Debbie

    Hi,

Yes, thank you so much – finally all the problems I had are now resolved. I still find it strange that I did not have this problem on the staging site which is set up exactly the same but for now everything is working – the hamburger menu, the search dropdown and the blank ‘add to cart’ button 🙂 Debbie

    Hi,

I just don’t understand why it works for you and not me. All my browsers show the same error. I have tested on desktop and laptop, still the same result – no dropdown.

I see this in ‘errors’ in Firefox if this is of any help :

Invalid URI. Load of media resource failed. 2 http://www.swankypins.co.uk
The resource at “https://www.swankypins.co.uk/wp-content/themes/xstore/fonts/xstore-icons-light.woff?v=8.0.2” preloaded with link preload was not used within a few seconds. Make sure all attributes of the preload tag are set correctly. http://www.swankypins.co.uk

The above errors also show for my staging site – but that works absolutely fine (search menu and hamburger menu on mobile) so I dont think there are any problems there.

Someone at support did make changes to my Child theme last week. Could anything there have caused this (and also my ‘hamburger’ issue on the mobile – (post 296340 which has now been going on for 6 days)?

Here are two snapshots. The first one from production site with hamburger menu pressed but not opening. https://prnt.sc/1giyxju The second is from the staging site with hamburger menu working perfectly. https://prnt.sc/1gj0esp

Now it is the end of the month, which is normally my busiest time but customers cannot access product via mobile. Please can you check what is going on here, this has now been a problem for 5 days since update. Thanks, Debbie

I tried to use that but it asks for an email or SMS address to send it to?

Also I tried to video someone pressing the hamburger menu on their mobile. Not only was I unable to send that video, but it doesn’t really need a video – or even a screenshot.

The hamburger menu just doesn’t work. You press the hamburger icon on the mobile and nothing happens. The menu doesn’t appear. I don’t think you need a video to understand this. I see there are a few other people saying they have the same issue.

I can provide a screenshot of the menu/add to cart button issue once you can let me know where / how to send it.

Yes I use Windows. I have tried in Chrome V91.0.4472, Edge V 92.0.902.55 and Firefox V 90.0.2. All are up to date.

Can you please let me know how to attach a screenshot or video and I will show you. I have never had so many problems with an update, I always clear site cache and use incognito windows when checking but this time no amount of cache cleaning makes the problem go away.

Too many people are reporting the same issue for it to be a simple cache clearing problem. I have now lost 4 days worth of customers as they cannot access products without the menu. Please can you look into this further, thanks. Debbie

That cannot be the case. I have done many updates before – always clear caches and use incognito to check on different browsers. So far, 6 different people have checked this for me on their mobiles and ALL say the mobile menu isn’t working.

The only thing I can think of that may be different between staging site and production, is that someone from support changed something in my child theme a few days ago on the production site. These changes were not made on the staging site. Could this have caused the issue?

I have cleared the site cache and all browser caches. I always use an incognito window as well which doesn’t store a cached version.

I am still not getting the search results with images.

I do not understand why you can see things I can’t. Its the same with the mobile hamburger menu, you can see it but neither me or my friends who I asked to test it can access the menu.

As I am not having the same problems with my staging site (which reflects updates immediately after clearing site cache and checking in an incognito window), I don’t know what cache can possibly be interfering with how I view the site.

Have you any ideas what else I can check, because definitely I am not seeing the same things as you.

    Hi,

Thank you for re-adding the currency switcher. Not, sure why it disappeared but that did not happen when I updated the staging site.

I always check everything using an incognito window and I always check in Chrome, Firefox and Edge – all show the same results. What is happening is that on the products drop down menu quickly flashes black before the size options show. It didn’t used to do that. When you click ‘add to cart’, it should show a white tick in the box after the button is clicked (as in your photo and on my staging site), but all I see in all 3 browsers is a blank box. I don’t know how to send a video?

The hamburger menu is definitely not working on mobile. I see your screenshot where it is working, but I have asked a number of people to check on their phones (iphone safari & Android Chrome), and all tell me the hamburger menu does not work. I do not understand how you could see it, but if the majority of people including myself cannot access this menu there must be a problem.

    Hi,

I have been trying to solve this problem now for 3 days and have had no response from you since 23rd. Has this thread been closed, shall I open a new one? I still have the problems

    1. The hamburger menu is not working on mobile .

    2. When you first choose an option on a product page, the box is black before the sizes come into view and the ‘add to cart’ button goes blank once clicked.

    3. The currency converter in the top bar has also disappeared. It was there after the theme update, and still there when I first updated WordPress to 5.8 but today it is not displaying.

All these things are fine on the staging site which is also running 5.8 and theme version 8.0.1.

Customers have been unable to order via mobile for over 24 hours now because of the lack of a working menu on the website. I would be grateful if you could look at this please. Thanks, Debbie

okay, I can see now that I have WordPress 5.8 again. However, the problems are still there –
Most importantly, that the hamburger menu is not working on mobile .

When you first choose an option on a product page, the box is black before the sizes come into view and the ‘add to cart’ button goes blank once clicked.

The currency converter in the top bar has also disappeared. It was there after the theme update, and still there when I first updated WordPress to 5.8 but today it is not displaying.

    Hi,

You only downgraded WordPress to 5.7.2 this morning, do you want me to re-install WordPress 5.8 again? Did you update the theme on my website because I still see Xcore version 4.0.1 on there? I want to make double sure I’m not going to update WordPress to find it all goes wrong again. The hamburger menu on mobile did not work previously with WordPress 5.8, but is still not working on WordPress 5.7.2. Debbie

Thank you for rolling back the version of wordpress, the recently viewed’s are now displaying correctly – although I still don’t understand why the production site and staging site were both running exactly the same versions of everything (including WordPress 5.8), but the staging site is working perfectly on desktop and mobile and the production site wasn’t.

However there are still a few issues with the theme update that i had before. Most importantly, that the hamburger menu is not working on mobile . This means that customers cannot access products without access to the categories.

Also, when you first choose an option on a product page, the box is black before the sizes come into view and the ‘add to cart’ button goes blank once clicked.

The currency converter in the top bar has also disappeared since the roll-back of WordPress. It was there after the theme update, and still there after WordPress update but today it is not displaying.

you can see it working fine on staging site staging5.swankypins.co.uk

Could you look into this please, especially the mobile menu as I would be losing customers from this.

    Thanks, Debbie

    Hi,

I wonder if you could re-check that please. I have cleared the cache on my mobile many times, and asked friends & family to check it on their phones and all report that the hamburger menu is not working on mobile on the production site.

Both production site and staging site are running exactly the same versions of everything, but the staging site is working perfectly on desktop and mobile, while production site has errors with the display of ‘recently viewed’ on product pages (desktop only, not mobile) and is all over the place. The most important problem here is the hamburger menu, because no-one can access my products without being able to see the categories.

Actually, I am not sure if the WordPress update is the problem. I am not experiencing any of these problems on my staging site, which has also been updated to wordpress 5.8. the hamburger menu is working on the mobile site and there is no problem with ‘recently viewed’. It is running your update 8.0.1 (v4.0.1 Xcore), exactly as production site. I do not understand this. Please look at staging5.swankypins.co.uk and you can see it is the same but everything seems to be working okay. Thanks, Debbie

I have spent the whole afternoon trying to revert back to the previous version of WordPress. I have restored my website to yesterday, then tried again for the day before (20th), as that didn’t work. I have no idea what to do now. My website is not accessible on mobile due to the menu not working. Do you know when the update compatible with 5.8 will be ready?
