How to Add a Favicon to Your WordPress Blog

  • To start, go to your account in the WordPress control panel and click on the Appearance → Editor. Here you need a file called Cap (header.php): we will make a couple of corrections.
  • In this file, find the line of code that begins with a <link rel = “shortcut icon” and ends at /favicon.ico “/>. If this line is full, replace and insert the code below. Otherwise, under the tag <head> add the following code:

  • To save and activate your changes, just do not forget to click on Save.

Now go to the main page and see whether the new favicon is displayed on the top line next to the website address and it will be added to your WooCommerce themes. In some cases it is necessary a few minutes to make this update.

If the favicon file does not appear, check that you have not missed something in one of the previous stages of editing and downloading favicons to your WooCommerce themes. You can also go back and do all the loading and configuration from scratch.

The favicon added into your WordPress template is just one of the “strokes” to the online branding of your project and the ability to allocate your site among the many competitors and peers in the network. Such files are simply created and installed, but thanks to your website they will be more interesting and more visible to the audience.
