    Hello,

I am using XStore for my WooCommerce website and I would like to update Elementor, but I want to make sure that the update is fully compatible with my current XStore setup before proceeding.

    Here is my current environment:

    WordPress: 7.0.3
    PHP: 8.2.31
    XStore: 9.7.6
    XStore Core: 5.7.6
    Elementor: 3.34.2
    Available Elementor update: 4.2.2
    WooCommerce: 11.0.0
    No child theme is used

Elementor is an important part of my website. I use it to build:

    the main Header
    the Footer
    the Mega Menu

The website is an active production WooCommerce store, so I am particularly concerned about any compatibility issues affecting the Header, Footer, Mega Menu, product pages, cart or checkout.

I have deliberately postponed the Elementor 4.x update for several months because I wanted to wait until the new Elementor version was sufficiently tested with XStore.

Could you please confirm the following:

    1. Is Elementor 4.2.2 fully compatible with XStore 9.7.6 and XStore Core 5.7.6?
    2. Do you recommend updating directly from Elementor 3.34.2 to 4.2.2, or should I install an intermediate Elementor version first?
    3. Are there any known issues with Elementor 4.2.2 and XStore 9.7.6, particularly concerning Elementor-built Headers, Footers or Mega Menus?
    4. Is there any specific procedure you recommend before updating Elementor on an existing XStore website?
    5. Should XStore / XStore Core be updated before Elementor, or is my current version combination already the recommended one?
    6. Are there any settings, XStore tools or compatibility options that I should check before performing the Elementor update?

I have a full backup available and I can test the website after the update, but because this is a live production store, I would prefer to proceed only once I know that this version combination is officially supported.

Could you please confirm whether you consider it safe to update Elementor 3.34.2 → 4.2.2 on this setup?

    Thank you for your advice.

    Best regards,
    Carine

    Hello @caribou,

We recommend updating your website on the staging version, as you have not been updating plugins regularly. This approach allows you to identify any potential issues on the staging site.

However, if you have only live web-site, as you mentioned, you have created a backup, so in the event of any critical issues, you can restore the backup archive.

It is independed on the first update, either it is XStore theme, XStore Core or Elementor so it does not affect anything.

Currently, we have only encountered issues with the Elementor built-in feature, Atomic Builder, which caused problems when loading the editor. We advised affected customers to disable this feature if they are not using Atomic elements on their website, which resolved the loading issue. More details can be found in our response here: https://www.8theme.com/topic/elementor-not-working-and-required-safe-mode/#post-471230.

For any other concerns, please feel free to submit your queries if you require our assistance.

    Best Regards,
    Jack Richardson
