We have made changes to the functions.php file of your child theme, which should resolve the issue you were experiencing. Please note that in order for the product variation to appear as backordered, a specific value must be set. You can find more details in the attached files.

If you set the stock quantity to 0 but enable the “Allow backorders” option for a variation, the purchase button will remain available. However, if the stock is 0 and backorders are not allowed, the product will not be available for purchase.

Unfortunately, at the moment, this is the only way to have different variations with different stock statuses.
