Wishlist for product variation is acting like it is enabled, even though it is not

Hi,

I noticed that when i add a product in the wishlist it ads the variation i have selected on the product page, instead of the parent product.
If, however, i do not have any variation selected it ads the main product

Is there a way I can make it always add the main product instead of variations please?

I searched in the options and found an option called “Wishlist for product variations” which at first i thought it was exactly what i needed because it describes exactly my “issue”
but i realized it was DISABLED and so it doesn’t make sense
I even tried to enable it + save and then disable + save thinking that perhaps there was an issue here, but still the wishlist is treating each selected variation individually

So I guess my question is, is there a way to make the wishlist treat all selected variations like a main product ?

While you are able to add the desired item to your wishlist, you may encounter difficulties when attempting to add a variation product directly to your cart.
