Hi, its the third time I’m opening a ticket and probably the last one as in 17 days our extended support will expire.

I really hope you will be able to help me this time, as we are struggling so hard with your theme which is causing us serious problems.

The issue is that the loading time is huge but I don’t believe that this has to do with the speed itself… In Google insights the score is pretty acceptable. Also, when the eShop wants to do us the favor to load quickly it manages to do it easily.

But unfortunately, most of the times, when we haven’t loaded it for several hours, it takes forever to load most of the themes elements (homepage image slider, homepage product presentation etc). Chrome inspector says sometimes that DOM takes more than 20 seconds to load.

We have tried many caching plugins and CDNs (currently we have cloudflare) but none of them actually solved our problem.

Please check it and help us resolve it somehow. We really like the theme but it cannot be used like that and its too late to start building everything from scratch on a different one so I would really appreciate an acceptable solution.

Thank you very much in advance.

    Please, contact administrator
    for this information.

    Dear Antonis,

We hope this message finds you well.

We would like to bring to your attention that integrating the Revolution Slider on the homepage may impact the page’s loading speed. To enhance the performance of your slider, we kindly suggest reviewing the following tutorial on optimizing load speed: https://www.sliderrevolution.com/tutorials/optimizing-load-speed-and-performance/.

As an alternative, you may consider utilizing the Elementor Slider, which can be found here: https://elementor.com/widgets/pro/slides-widget/.

Furthermore, for cache optimization, we recommend exploring the WP-Rocket plugin. Detailed guidance on how to fine-tune its settings in conjunction with our XStore theme is available at: https://xstore.helpscoutdocs.com/article/128-how-to-improve-wp-rocket-settings-with-xstore.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.

    Warm regards,
    The 8Theme Team

Hi and thank you for your response.
Deactivating the revolution slider have no impact at all to the problematic loading behaviour.

If we replace all the XStore plugins replacing it with others, the speed is returning to normal.

We haven’t tried WP Rocket, we are letting it as a last resort but hopefully another solution will come up and we won’t need it.

Strange thing is that in Google Page Speed we are getting a decent score when Inspector -> Network shows 28,5 seconds to load the first page…

Anyway, if you have any other suggestion please let me know.

    Thanks again.

    Dear Antonis,

We hope this message finds you well.

We have encountered difficulties accessing your website to perform a thorough check, as evidenced by the screenshot provided: https://prnt.sc/GvScS5A9q5Zn.

Our preliminary assessment indicates that your website appears to utilize a custom structure for loading scripts, media, and other files, which can be seen here: https://prnt.sc/ruEubTwvu4lZ. This configuration may contribute to the slower loading times experienced by your website.

To enhance the performance and speed of your website, we would like to offer the following suggestions:

    1. Optimize your images by compressing them, converting them to the WebP format, and implementing lazy loading.
    2. Remove any plugins that are not in use to streamline your website’s functionality.
    3. Conduct a thorough cleanup of your database. Tools such as WP-Sweep and Advanced Database Cleaner can assist in eliminating outdated revisions, spam comments, unnecessary MySQL queries, and more.
    4. Limit the number of post revisions stored to conserve resources.
    5. Disable pingbacks and trackbacks to reduce unnecessary load.
    6. Consider upgrading to a more robust hosting plan and ensure you are running the latest version of PHP for optimal performance.
    7. Utilize a Content Delivery Network (CDN) for your scripts and media files to improve global access speeds.

Additionally, we recommend reviewing the following articles, which may prove beneficial for optimizing your website that employs the Revolution Slider and WPML plugins:

    – Optimizing Load Speed and Performance for Slider Revolution: https://www.sliderrevolution.com/tutorials/optimizing-load-speed-and-performance/

We trust that these recommendations will assist you in improving the loading speed and overall performance of your website. Should you require any further assistance or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best regards,
    The 8Theme Team
