Upgrade from Theme Forest Version 7 on our staging site have multiple format problems

    1. Header format completely broken and missing on all pages.

    2. No footer visible on single product page. Also notice at bottom of page “There has been a critical error on this webiste” and then “Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.”

    3. Single product page displays in center of page only
    example: https://exterior1.wpengine.com/product/5500-polyaspartic-coating-roll-down-waterproof/?attribute_set-time=Fast+Set+20+Min&attribute_pa_color=clear&attribute_pa_size=2-gallon-kit

    4. ADD TO CART and BUY NOT buttons on product page do not work

    Hello,

Some core files were overwritten in the child theme and it caused the issue. Provide us with FTP access to your staging site to check it in more detail.

    Hello,

The error was caused by the out-of-date xstore-child/woocommerce/content-product-slider.php file. What changes did you do there?

    Regards

We do not have a techie on staff or retainer, as the owner of the business I am the only one doing any work on the website. I really don’t understand your question? We are not skilled enough to go into php files and make any changes so I really have no idea how any “changes” would have gotten there. Whatever the problem is can you “Fix” it please.

    Hello,

I have renamed that file and the single product page is ok. Check the staging site.
Also, I have made some changes in the footer.php to update the file that you also copied to your child theme.

    Regards

Thanks! Looks like your changes worked! the only thing I can’t seem to get working is the global body font size back to where it was? It is now too small and the Typography font size adjustment seems to be overridden somewhere. Please point me to where it I can adjust it. I am looking for either 16 or 17 font? This is most important on the product pages of course. Appreciate your help.

    Hello,

    You are welcome.
I see that you use custom CSS in Theme Options > Additional CSS in 2 places https://prnt.sc/1j0j8qs I don’t know why you added that but remove if you want to use font-size from the typography options.

    Regards

I tried deleting the 2 references you mentioned in the Additional CSS. It did nothing. I then for an experiment deleted 100% of everything in Additional CSS and then PUBLISHED. Still do nothing to help me change Global Font Size in the Typography section. However when in Typography section I put cursor next to font size, hit enter it makes the changes I want everywhere BUT when I publish it goes away? So something still seems to be blocking. Your help please. Right now I have no ability to change the website font size. Thanks

    Hello,

I see that body has the 17px font-size now https://prnt.sc/1jtea3a
So, don’t see the issue anymore. Do you want to change the font-size for some element on the page but it does not work? Maybe these elements just do not inherit the body size. What element size do you want to change?

For now I am good. Not perfect yet

    BUT

I tried to moving the staging site with the new version upgrade after you fixed it to the production site and it displayed exactly same broken header etc as my first email on August 1 about the broken staging site. I am assuming that you need to fix the production site the same way you did the staging site? Can you do this please?

Question: When I move the staging site with the latest release and changes to my production site should I just move the file system or should I move the file system and database?

    Thanks!

2nd question before I move the staging site to production site. After your changes to my production side, there is a critical error that shows up after customer checkouts out. It is successfully checking out but it is confusing to customer as it looks like it did not. Will this correct itself when I move staging to production or do you need to fix it now before I move? Hello,

Why do you need to move staging site to production if I have already updated theme on the production site and move our changes from the staging to production?
Fatal error after checkout was caused by out of date file in your child theme https://prnt.sc/1n08niq
I have updated file. Try now, please.

Thank you. Fixed :). Production site works great and I was able to use that as the starting base after you fixed it and make tweaks I was looking for. I had a lot of spacing and font size issues before on the previous release and the staging site but they seem to be cleaned up now with your fixing the production site.

Appreciate your help! Like the new 8.03 release.
