    Hi,

    trying to create copies of the default SPB template, I’ve managed to create 2 copies. When trying to create a 3rd copy, I keep getting a pulsing waiting circle, waiting for the field selector to pop up and define parameters. They never show. This has been a long standing issue. Can you please have a look what might cause the issue? I need to create 2 additional copies, and use these 4 to manage my products

    Hello,

    Do you mean SingleProduct Builder?
    Check how it works when 3rd party plugins are disabled on your site.
    Provide temporary FTP access also.

    Hi Rose,

    last time I addressed this issue with Xstore (last year) it was said that WPML probably caused the issue. We’ve recently uninstalled WPML but the problem remains.
    I’ve tried duplicating the template again, after deactivating all 3rd party plugins (other than bundled with xstore) but no positive effect.

    Could you, please, contact your hosting provider and ask for server error logs? Provide us with the server error logs file, please.

    EDIT: Did you make any changes in the code somewhere?
    Somehow, the tabs on our single product pages only show in our default Dutch language. As we switch to English, those tabs are gone!

    For the last few days if this possible.

    I did not make any changes to the files. But I see js error from the third-party plugin https://prnt.sc/12wy4bi Probably that plugin does not support js minification. Try to disable it in the cache plugin settings and contact plugin author.

    We need server error logs for May for example. Contact your hosting provider, they know what I mean and should be able to send you the correct log file. Share this file with me.

    Thanks. Btw, the entire xstore customizer won’t load properly anymore 🙁
    Takes about 2 minutes to load control panel and still waiting for content to pop up after this time…

    Actually, the whole site, including the backend, is loading slow for us. We thought that it’s because we are from another country. Did you change anything in the server settings?

    Hi, we’ve just added some managed services on our server, but our hoster will take approx 48 hours to collect all data to start making recommendations and be able to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, we can’t wait that long. If you could please continue checking what the issue is regarding template creation, that would be great.

    -EDIT- we’ve disabled the Ajax search plugin that caused the script issue. Unfortunately, the problem with tabs on the SPP persists.

    Have you activated or deactivated any of our plugins? Facebook and business review are disabled . Enabling Facebook again triggers unwanted sync. If you are working on our site, please don’t touch that one!

    Also, please understand that this is our production site. We are live and servicing clients. Deactivating plugins can be valuable when trouble shooting, but keeping critical plugins offline while support goes home for the day to come back the next day and continue working is not an option. Please be sensitive to that.

    Oh, take our apologies for that!
    Maybe it would be better to create staging site (full copy of the production site) and let our developers to work on the staging site. What do you think? Once we find the reason of the issue we’ll move the updated code to the production site.

    Hi Olga,

    Our developer will set up a staging site tomorrow.

    NOTE 1: We have used a tool to subject the site to a stress test in another test environment similar to our server: VPS with 2 CPU cores. 20 simultaneous visitors who all add to their shopping cart & click through with all caching disabled. The problem seems to be in the settings or a combination of the settings of the xstore / child theme.

    In its current version, the site’s performance drops significantly when hosting for a couple of simultaneous visitors. However, as soon as we delete / reset all theme settings the site continues to function fine, still a CPU peak but no error messages / timeouts.

    Maybe this is useful for you to investigate yourself.

    – the code of the child theme itself does not make a significant difference.
    – with the current settings also the xstore ‘parent’ theme has the same problem & is slow

    NOTE 2: Please keep in mind that migrating the staging database back to live is probably not an option, because our customer-placed orders will also be overwritten. This is our live web shop, so overwriting our transactions is a no-go.

    I’ll drop you a note in this thread once the staging site is up

    Hello,

    Ok, thank you. We’ll be waiting.
    1) We are working on a new theme archive that improves performance of theme options (customizer). So, we’ll check what causes the issue with the single product creation and then we’ll be able to upload the test archive on the staging site to allow you to check the pre-released version and compare results.

    2) Yes, we do understand this. We need to find the reason of the issue first. If this is a code issue then we’ll just fix it and upload fixed file to production. If this is something with the server settings then we will need your hosting provider assistance.

    Hi Olga,

    Details of the staging version in Private.
    This is on our developer’s VPS. It’s separate from our production site as our developer doubts whether our VPS would be able to run the staging website in addition to the regular site.

    Would it be okay to run a copy of the theme in our dev environment like this?

    Thank you. What about WP Dashboard login and pass? Because we can’t log in using the credentials of the production site. Login page just reloads and that’s all.

    Staging site was on PHP 7.4 which apparently caused a problem.

    login should be the same as live site.

    There’s no phpmyadmin installed on the server.
    But you can ‘check’ the database with a program:
    https://spinupwp.com/doc/connecting-database/
    or by using the the adminer.php (https://www.adminer.org/) script.
