    Hello
I posted my site link to Facebook, and this is how it looked:
    https://prnt.sc/uxbls0
Why is the “Your personal data will be used to supp…” under the heading?

I REALLY do not want that to display!! It certainly does NOT help build confidence in potential customers.

    Please help

    Hello,

Use SEO plugin to add the necessary OG image and OG description for your pages, posts, products. Try for example Yoast SEO plugin.

I really dont want to add another plugin, and I do not understand how that would fix this problem anyway.
I just dont want it to say ““Your personal data will be used to supp…” under the heading when I post on social media.
It shouldnt be this difficult to fix.

    Thanks\

    Hello,

That thing is the meta description. You can change the meta description using SEO plugin, we don’t have option to edit meta description in our theme.

    That is absurd.
You are honestly trying to tell me that your theme is so flawed that this line of information displays AND you have no way to change or fix it?!?!

    That is a problem.

Surely you have a better answer than “use another plugin?!?!”

I do not understand why the “tag line” of the site (Tennessee Artist and Musician) does not show up in this instance instead of the “Your personal data” etcetc?? Wouldn’t that be the logical meta data for that place??

    Please help

    Hello,

We don’t add the special og tags to our theme because they conflict with the SEO plugins that customers use. Without og tags, FB takes the first paragraph from your site to the og:description.
Why is it the problem for you to install SEO plugin, for example, Yoast SEO? It’s free and does not slow down the site.

I still don’t understand and this seems like a major glitch to your theme.

And why would that line about Your personal data” etcetc be the first paragraph on my site? I have never written that and do not see it anywhere?

As for the plugin idea – I simply do not want to add extra plugins I do need or use.

    Pretty disappointed.

    Hello,

    Here is it http://prntscr.com/v9at4x

I don’t need a refund. Your theme is mostly great apart from this glaring issue and oversight.

I also don’t understand why it would pull that line of information from the Sign Up/Account box? Seems weird and random.

If I moved that link from the static box to a page link, would that change it and stop it from happening?

I really suggest you update your theme and add a meta description area ASAP.

PS – I added Yoast and added content to the metadata area in both general settings AND in the Yoast settings in the home and shop pages, AND cleared the cache, AND added a “Featured Image” but it is STILL showing this “personal data” message and just a small portion of the site header logo for the Homepage.
Also, this page has not been titled “Home default” in quite some time.

    https://prnt.sc/v9vt80

However, I made the exact same changes on the “Shop” page (meta/featured image, etc), and now that page seems to be displaying correctly when the link is posted to Facebook.

    https://prnt.sc/v9vwj9

Why is it not working for the homepage, and why is it pulling info from weeks ago to display? All I am doing pasting or typing the site name in to post. I have tried it on a laptop, tablet, and phone, as well as on Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, and every time the homepage is wrong.

    It’s driving me crazy…..Please help!!

Perhaps I am missing something, but I am completely lost and need to fix this immediately.

    Please help!

    Hello,

We have tested your site using FB debug https://prnt.sc/va12i1
Use debug to clear the FB cache https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

I passed your request to our developers and probably they will add og:image and og: description options to one of the next updates.

    Regards

I hope you don’t mind jumping on this post. I am about to raise my own support request, however I wanted to add my own support for this here as I am having the same problem. That description is really not good for engagement on facebook facebook posts, and seems ridiculous that this particular text would be used as a description as default, all I wanted to do is share my website address on facebook while we in the UK are in lockdown and bricks and mortar shops are closed…..Ive not been trying to make this work for three hours!
