    has there been any update to the theme load speed. we too are having serious difficulties especially on the shop and product pages. After trying every possible speed optimization technique we’ve found it truly is the themes code. We really need a solution for this.

    @Eva,

    Thanks, I do have a ticket in. But this is really something I think needs to be given more open discussion in order that we can compare and get to the bottom of the issue. I’ve seen dozens of people now in the forum and on themeforest having serious speed issues with Legenda, indicating the same 10 second load times. It’s just something that will seriously hurt a business that depends on their site to convert. No one will wait even 6 or 7 seconds for page loads these days.

    We’ve just launched after 7 weeks of prep and are losing serious business, even after paying an expert optimization specialist. We’ll have to switch themes asap if there’s no solution. It will cause us hours more work to move to a new theme at this point so we need to make a decision, and if 8themes isn’t prepared to assist we need to know.

    Hello @Tim,

    We’re very sorry, but we have improved the theme so much as we could. We have already emphasized if someone of our customers has experience in development and has proposals concerning changes in the theme (we mean only specific changes in the code in particular files, rather than general phrases like “Reduce CSS File” etc), we are asking to declare them here or contact us via the contact form https://www.8theme.com/contact-us/
    If the recommended changes are effective and reduce time load of the theme, you will receive financial compensation.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    I’ve raised this very issue in the past and haven’t gotten very far. After starting completely from scratch and moving my content to a wordpress hosted provider (WP Engine) I’ve just now seen my site slow to a crawl after I added all the products again. While I’m sure there are performance issues with the theme, WP Engine support informed me that there is an issue with Woocommerce.

    From the log file:
    40 /nas/wp/www/cluster-2353/rwlee33/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/wc-term-functions.php:493

    The number 40 in front of this is the number of times a slow query was logged from this file. In this case, that’s a very large amount, and makes up for the entirety of the slow logs.

    I will be contacting woocommerce about this issue and posting the reply in this thread.

    @rwlee33, try this:

    8themes > Product Page Layout – Image Cropping (turn off)

    We tried everything, spent weeks, and were also on wpengine. Woocommerce, wpengine, 8themes had no idea and first told us they saw no issue, then when we persisted just pointed out the easiest and most obvious issues over and over like optimizing our images, as if shaving 100kb from a page would reduce page load from 12 seconds to 3 or 4.

    Finally we hired a database specialist and he discovered the issue immediately. Every time a page with woocommerce was loading it had to crop every woocommerce image, hugely resource intensive. Unbelievable.

    If this is your issue as well let’s share it with the rest of those in this forum suffering these crazy load times.

    I just checked. Image cropping was already off. This doesn’t seem to be the issue for me. I wish it was that easy.

    Bummer. Did you also check your woocommerce settings to make sure “hard crop” is unchecked in Product Image Sizes in the Products tab?

    Just checked. Hard cropped was already unchecked across the board. Unfortunately, that’s not the issue either.

    As a side note…yesterday I had around 1,500 products with one 300×300 image and site loading was…acceptable.

    I just added another 1,500 products and today the shop speed is…abysmal. 20 seconds + to load.
