    Hello,
would there be a way to include more complete info/content at the top of a Shop Category page than just the featured banner image. For instance let’s use one of your examples:

    https://www.8theme.com/demo/legenda/product-category/jewelry/

What if I wanted some content like a slider, or maybe a Static Block (that would be great) in place of the “Jewellery Category B/W banner). It would have to be different content for each category, that would allow us to present Designers in our case (as we have set them up as categories).

    Hello,

    Thank you for the suggestion.
We’ve taken this into account and perhaps it will be produced in one of our future updates.

    Thank you.

LoL Sometimes I just wonder if you just answer politely without really reading..

    OK.. IN ANY CASE:
I still realize I don’t understand how to even make an image appear at the top of a WooCommerce Category page, like you do have your Jewellery Banner here:

    https://www.8theme.com/demo/legenda/product-category/jewelry/

    ________________________________________________

THREE QUESTIONS HERE.. When I go to Edit a Product Category, there are:

    1. Display type
    Should I select anything ?
What’s the purpose of this ?
Is it useful with legenda ?

    2. Thumbnail
What’s the purpose of this ?
Is it useful with legenda ?
Does Legenda use those Products Category thumnbails at all anywhere ?
    If so where ?

    3. Category Header
With a tinymce menu and its content field below it, so what would make sense to me is that it is there that I add text or a banner (or even a shortcode to place a Slider ?!!) that would appear at the top of my Category page. Well.. whatever I put in that field, after saving (Update button, bottom left) the field is empty again.. like nothing is saved at all..

What am I doing wrong ?

OK. I FIGURED OUT AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTION 3 !!!
When ALL IN ONE SEO plugin is activated:
    http://semperplugins.com/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack-pro-version/
I cannot save anything in the Category Header section.

Any idea on your side what could be the matter ?
I’ll ask for support with them also of course !!

As for “real” content, cool, I can actually add a revslider in there for example.

    Hello,

    1. Display type means what will be shown when a customer select product category on your site – products of that product category or subcategories (if that product category is parent). By default products will be shown.

    2. Thumbnails are displayed for product categories on the Shop page if you selected in Woocommerce > Settings > Products tab > Shop Page Display > Show Subcategories.

    3. Please clarify how you’re inserting a banner or what code you use to insert.
    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

Oh it’s fine, now that I realized ALL IN ONE SEO plugin was causing the non-saving issue (see my previous comment): I can now insert any shortcode, like a revslider shortcode, so I can have a revslider at the top of my category page :0) Love it !!!

Otherwise: I already just asked this question as a separate entry, as I thought it could be useful to other people in other contexts than just the shop,.. but here I go again:

Can a Static Block be placed somewhere using shortcode ?

    Hello,

You can use static block adding shortcode in the text editor.
Please specify where exactly you want to place it.
    Thank you.

Well what do you think ;=)

In the Category Header section obviously !
Since all this thread was about that ;0)

It works with revslider shortcode so all I need to know is how to generate Static Blocks shortcode.. And I’ll see if it works.. I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

So where do I find Static Blocks shortcode.. not in the manual I don’t think :0(
