Hi, just downloaded the Legenda theme package (Languages_PO_files) from Themeforest but where’s the pot file?
According to your description here: https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/legenda/#!/how_to_translate
There’s only the mo and po files for different languages.
Also, in the theme itself (Legenda/languages) there’s only the mo and po files for default and GB…
Hello,
It is the same files. Please read more here:
http://betterwp.net/wordpress-tips/create-pot-file-using-poedit./
Regards,
Robert Hall.
First, your description says “The translation file default.pot you can find in Languages_PO_files folder in theme package.” I can’t really understand if the file is then not there.
Secondly, I’ve tried to read betterwp… quite extensively – does that then mean you have to make your own pot file? This should actually be the developer doing this since its generated from the php files.
If your not supposed to generate the pot file but only the po file, then I’m missing the pot file… 😉
Apparently all other themes and plugins have a pot file which you as a user generate your own po and mo language files from. What am I missing, please advise?
Hello,
Connect to your site via FTP and go to /wp-content/themes/legenda/languages directory. There you’ll find default.po file. How to translate it to your language is written here: http://betterwp.net/wordpress-tips/create-pot-file-using-poedit./ . Don’t forget to add $locale='de_DE';
tp wp-config.php file, where “de_DE” is used as your language prefix.

Eva Kemp.
I’m sorry, but why do you keep on writing the betterweb link again and again? I’ve read it and my question is, are we as translators really supposed to create the pot file? If yes, what should the keywords be like?
Thanks.
Hello,
You don’t need to create .pot file. Edit .po file from the /wp-content/themes/legenda/languages directory.
