I want to ask that is it possible to make the size of product container double on hover

I saw a website in which if you hover on the product, the size of product container gets double, revealing the information of the product on other half of the container.
is it possible to do so,

secondly is it possible to add a major category image in your product list. my english is not so good to explain you better so I have attached the image beloww:
