How to list items in category correctly?

When I choose to display products in a category via Visual Composer they are listed in 1 column even though I select to list them in 4 columns?
If I choose to list 1 item in 1 column the price ends up on the side?

When I inspect the code on your demopage: https://www.8theme.com/demo/legenda/home-page-3/ where featured products are listed in 4 columns it looks completely different from the code on my website.
Is there special Legenda shortcodes? In that case they don’t seem to be included in my themes version of Visual Composer.

How do I solve this?

You need use Products element in Visual Composer editor.
Please try it.
