General question – thank you page after placing an order

    Hi guys,

    Just a question; is it possible to create a thank you page after a customer placed an order? I checked all the options, couldnt find it but it would be nice to leave a personal note after someone placed an order. Is this possible? If so, how can I do this best?

    Hello, Denise,

    Yes, it is possible; however, XStore does not appear to include a straightforward built-in option for adding a fully customized personal thank-you message or page through the theme settings. According to XStore support, the recommended approach is to modify the WooCommerce/XStore thank-you template by overriding the file xstore/woocommerce/checkout/thankyou.php in a child theme and making the necessary edits there.

    If you require assistance with this process, you may submit a customization request.

    Thank you for your question.

    The thank-you page can be found in the following template file:
    xstore/woocommerce/checkout/thankyou.php

    However, if you are using the Cart/Checkout advanced layout (https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/woocommerce/customizing-cart-checkout-page-layouts/), please copy and modify the following file in your child theme instead:
    xstore/woocommerce/checkout/thankyou-advanced.php

    Hi Jack,

    Thank you for your quick reply! To be honest I didnt find the links very useful.
    I also checked the thank you advanced php but could only change something in the main theme, not in the child theme.
    I hesitate to change anything in the main theme. So I used Loco Translate to change the text haha.

    I only have one question left about this thank you page. As you can see in the picture; something isnt showing under “Product”. Do you have any idea what this should be? Because the text and picture + name product + amount is showing.

    Hello @Denise,

    Please provide us with the URL of the order in the private content area so that we can verify the source. Additionally, kindly include the correct wp-admin access details in the private content area so we can review it. In your screenshot, it appears that a broken image is displayed. Please clarify what you expect to see in the order table and attach a detailed screenshot.

    I would like to know what needs to be shown here. Because the picture is already displayed. I thought maybe you know this.
    Unfortunately I dont have the link of the payment page anymore..

    The content of the thank-you page displays by default the original information provided by WooCommerce for the items in your order. If you would like to include additional details, you will need to customize the content of this page following the customization steps and file instructions we have already described above.
