Custom tabs in ‘product data’ not showing when you add a product in woocommerce

Hi, I submitted this topic already but not seeing it so submitting this again in case it didn’t go through. When I go and add a product I used to get an option that said ‘custom tabs’ in the ‘product data’ section of woocommerce – see screenshot link: https://snipboard.io/PDvbui.jpg

This seems to now have disappeared, I logged a support issue with woocommerce but they said it’s the theme provider – Xstore (8theme) so that’s why I’m asking here. This was an important feature since I had custom tabs like ‘food ingredients’ and ‘analysis of food’ etc. The single product page builder custom tab features that tab to all products which I don’t want. Please can you advise why the custom tabs has disappeared. It’s also taken away all these custom tabs on all the products previously loaded! Thanks

Hello, @Heather,

Actually, The custom tab option is not there, you are checking it in the wrong place. When you edit a product at the bottom of the page you will see the section called “8Theme Product Option” choose the “Single Product tab” from there and then you will see the option for a custom tab for the product you are editing as you can see in this image: https://postimg.cc/mt67FMvC this is the option you are trying to find and edit.

Hi, I am aware of that one but there used to be ‘custom tabs’ in the section I showed where you could add more than one custom tab. I am already using this custom tab you showed as a ‘shipping’ tab where I explain the shipping times but you cannot seem to do more than one custom tab. If could more than one custom tab it would be fine but it’s just one and there used to definately be an option in the product data that said ‘custom tabs’. which has now disappeared. I need to add more than one custom tab, for the pet food products I see I need at least 3 other custom tabs and I had that option previously. I took it up with woocommerce because I thought it was them but they said it’s the theme.

Single product builder allows adding 2 custom tabs. But if it’s not suitable for you and you want to use the third-party plugin you need additional customization to make our theme compatible with the plugin. Thanks, I have now installed custom product tabs plugin and it works fine, what is the code for? Do I need to put in these codes if the product tabs seem to work fine?

Hello, @Heather,

If the plugin is working fine then there is no need to add the code if you find/face any issue regarding using this plugin with our theme then you have to copy that code and paste it into the child theme >> function.php file. But as you said it working fine then there is no need to add the code to the theme. Leave it and enjoy using the plugin with our theme.
