    Hi

    I have installed all plugins OK and imported the demo content of the Victoria variant of the Classico theme. No error messages, and it stated it was successful.

    The following is different from the demo on the Themeforest site:

    • just under the slideshow, there are three images with headings “Out Process, “Collection” & “About Us”. this is missing on my development site after import.
    • Under the title “Classico Products” are the following tabs: Featured Products, Popular Products, New Arrivales, Last Minute. They all work except the 1st one, featured Products shows nothing. Probably just need to set some featured products I expect, but was expecting the import to work here.
    • Under the title “Product Categories”, there is only one, with no picture. Do I have to set this up manually myself?
    • Under the Blog items on home page are several categories that are missing “Featured Products”, “Recent Products”, “Sale Products”. Again, should they be there, or do i need to set these up manually to get it to look like the demo.
    • In the footer area, none of the columns have been set up. Is this something I have to do manually. Again, I was expecting it to look like the demo. I don’t mind, just wish I was instructed weather or not to set this up manually or has the import failed? Need to know?

    I will deal with any issues on other pages separately, just want to know at this stage was the import a fail, or do I need to do a bit of work to get the missing objects on the Home page?

    Advice will be warmly appreciated?

    Hello,

    1. We can create those banners for you manually or you can do this yourself via Visual Composer editor in your home page.

    2. You need mark featured products in Products section of wp-admin panel:
    http://support.8theme.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/9/0/how-to-mark-products-as-featured-and-new-ones

    3. You need create your own product categories in wp-admin panel > Products > Categories and upload a category thumbnail.

    4. You should mark featured, sale products yourself.

    5. You can import footer file from theme package > “XML Files” folder > “Footer Variants” folder. Next, go to Tools > Import > WordPress > upload chosen xml file, press Upload File and import. Check “Download and import file attachments” and press Submit button.
    The footer block will appear in Static Blocks section. You need add Static Block widget into “Footer” area in Appearance > Widgets.

    Hi

    Thanks a lot for your answers. I have done answers 2, 3, 4, 5.

    I would like to create the banners myself. Do you have instructions please? I can create images myself, but what set of steps do I need to take using the Visual Composer Editor? Can you please provide a few steps, instead of doing this for me?

    Also, I have created product catagories, and uploaded images for the backgrounds. On the demo, the background images are displayed with resolution 555x760px. However, on my site after import all demo for variant 1, the catagory backgrounds are displayed as 300×300, squares. Where do I alter this so the background images are displayed the same size as the original demo? (My images sizes were all cropped to 555×760)

    Thanks.

    ** UPDATE **

    I have managed to work out how to create the 3 banner images on the Home Page, by adding a row which is divided into three columns and adding the [8Theme] Banner With Mask.

    To get the same text, I used The following code in the text box:

    <h1 style="font-family: Cookie, cursive; color: #fff; font-size: 64px; text-transform: none;">Banner Heading 1</h1>

    Hope this helps someone.

    The only things now remaining to be solved on the Home Page that I still need help with are these:

    • As mentioned in previous post above, images on the Home Page that are supposed to be resolution 555×760 are being resized to 300×300. This includes product categories, and farther up the page, where is says Featured Products, Popular Products, New Arrivals and Last Minute. All of these have been resized to 300×300 thumbnails and are not displayed as their original sizes. VERY ANNOYING, LOL.

    Please advise?

    Hello

    Sorry for the delay. The site whilst in development is offline. What I have done is to create an online, htacess password protected version of the default demo install (variant 1) with slight alterations to the demo including pro-footer and footer area’s added. Also in the parallax section of the Home Page, I have added the Testimonials widget. Testimonials are working, but the styling is awful. (see private content of this reply for WP admin login details as requested).

    I would like to be able to change the following:-

    • font
    • font colour
    • size
    • font has white background, this is not changeable, I need it to be transparent
    • no options for navigation. Just appears as radio buttons, not suitable, maybe needs navigation arrows

    I have used the Visual Composer plugin with other themes, and on those these, its very easy to change the above I have mentioned. I won’t mention the competitor themes here, but I’ll mention in the private section of this post for you to see what I mean.

    Please, contact administrator
    for this information.

    In addition to the testimonials’ styling, please also refer to my previous post regarding image size on the home page not looking like the demo (see below)

    Hi

    I created a copy of your demo site on the URL I provided. For some reason, the site needs to be refreshed sometimes for both the testemonials and the blog section on the home page to show up. I have no idea why this happens, but only happens on this demo install I did for you.

    So please refresh the home page a couple of times and the testemonials will show.

    (note, I am using Cloudflare, so this may have an effect, or maybe is the updates to your own plugins)

    Hello,

    I’ve added this code in Theme Options > Styling > Custom CSS > Global Custom CSS for testimonials text:

    blockquote.testimonials-text {
        color: #353535;
        font-family: "Oswald",sans-serif;
        font-size: 20px;
        font-weight: 400;
        letter-spacing: 2px;
        text-transform: uppercase;
        background-color: transparent;
    }
    .testimonials-slider .owl-controls {
       background-color: transparent;
    }

    Please check it now.

    I’ve set images sizes in Woocommerce > Settings > Products > Display > Product Images and disables “Hard Crop” option, and regenerated thumbnails.
    Please check images now.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Thanks very much. The Woocommemerce display setting worked very well, and the images are all the correct proportions now, looks much better indeed.

    There is still a problem with parallax images behind the testimonials not always displaying. There seems to be an issue after plugin updates I think. Have you had anyone else mention this problem? I feel that Visual Composer seems to be broken. Bearing in mind that this was a fresh install. The Parallax image loads sometimes after a refresh.

    With regards to the custom css to change the text on the testimonials. This will help me change the font settings myself in future. Please can you also kindly help me to remove the box surrounding the text? and also allow me to vary the width the text is within? The box is not necessary and clashes with the image background to be honest. I hope in future that your developers can ensure that the testimonials can be tweaked more easily, as its far too rigid. See the example theme I mentioned in the private section above for an example of how its implemented well with Visual Composer.

    Hello,

    I’ve edited the code and now it is:

    blockquote.testimonials-text {
        color: #353535;
        font-family: "Oswald",sans-serif;
        font-size: 20px;
        font-weight: 400;
        letter-spacing: 2px;
        text-transform: uppercase;
        background-color: transparent;
        border: none;
        width: 800px;
    }

    blockquote.testimonials-text:after,
    blockquote.testimonials-text:before {
        display: none;
    }

    I’ve updated the page several times and parallax background image is always visible.
    Sorry, but I can’t reproduce the issue.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Thanks.

    Sorry for the delay, have been waiting for the major issue of your out-of-date plugins to be sorted, as the site does not work with latest downloads you made available. (another support request thread)

    The above .css solution works well, and from your css provided I was easily able to amend the text further to my requirements.

    There are two remaining issues with the testemonials.

    1. The testimonial author text remains grey, how do I add css to alter the colour, size font etc for this?
    2. After adding a second testimonial, the navigation controls appear, but it looks awful. There are two left and right arrows in circles. I like these, but the colour needs to be amended, how can I do that? Underneath the testimonial and author is a secondary navigation control with two bullet points on a white background. I would like this background to be transparent, and also be able to turn it off completely to be left with the left/right arrows in circles.

    Please kindly advise how to achieve this?

    Hope this makes sense.

    Regards

    Just seen this you added to the online development site

    .testimonials-slider .owl-controls {
       background-color: transparent;
    }

    This makes the bullet point navigation control background transparent.

    (sorry I’m working from the offline site, and you previously amended the online demo version)

    OK, I think I’ve cracked it by amended the css you provided earlier.

    Here’s my updated version:

    footer .container .widget-container .twitter-list li {
    border-bottom: 1px solid #444;
    margin-bottom: 1.0714em;
    padding-bottom: 1.0714em;
    }

    blockquote.testimonials-text {
        color: #ffffff;
        font-family: 'Open Sans',sans-serif;;
        font-size: 18px;
        background-color: transparent;
        border: none;
    }

    blockquote.testimonials-text:after,
    blockquote.testimonials-text:before {
        display: none;
    }

    .testimonials-slider .owl-controls {
       background-color: transparent;
    }

    .testimonial-info .testimonial-author {
    	color: #ffffff;
        font-family: 'Open Sans',sans-serif;;
        font-size: 18px;
        background-color: transparent;
        border: none;
    }

    .owl-carousel .owl-pagination .owl-page span {
        display: block;
        width: 12px;
        height: 12px;
        margin: 5px 7px;
        opacity: 0.5;
        -webkit-border-radius: 20px;
        -moz-border-radius: 20px;
        border-radius: 20px;
        background: #ff0000;
    }

    The problem now remaining is that I set the testimonial to be a slider, with interval in milliseconds of 8000 (alsd tried many different values), but they do not slide from testimonial to testimonial as it should do. The end user can only use the bullet point navigation control underneath to go to the next one.

    Jack

    You asked me to update plugins. Please see the following support request ticket. It describes how I have complained about plugin updates available on your download page breaking the Classico site. I was advised by your colleagues to roll back to a version of plugins that are not secure according to ThemeForest.

    Link to issue with plugin updates breaking site

    Are you now saying that there are later plugins and you have updated Classico to a version later than v1.3 that now works? Please advise before I go updating and rolling back all over again?
