I just performed theme and plugin updates on my client’s site and I am getting this message:

Your theme (Royal Child) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. Suggestions to fix this:

Update your theme to the latest version. If no update is available contact your theme author asking about compatibility with the current WooCommerce version.
If you copied over a template file to change something, then you will need to copy the new version of the template and apply your changes again.

When I “view effected template” I see this: royal/woocommerce/cart/cart.php version 10.0.0 is out of date. The core version is 10.1.0,

    ——————

Also when I try to update PHP past PHP 7.4, it breaks the site. Please help!

    ——————

Also the Wordfence scan is showing the ROYAL CORE plugin has a security vulnerability: https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/wordpress-plugins/royal-core/royal-core-292-authenticated-subscriber-arbitrary-options-update

However, according to this, I have the most recent version of the ROYAL CORE plugin on the site: https://royal.8theme.com/update-history/

    Please help!

    Hello, EM,

We are currently preparing an update that will resolve this issue. However, if you prefer not to wait for the update, please provide us with access to your admin and FTP panels, and we will apply the fix directly for you.

Fix which issue? I mentioned 3 issues.

    1) WooCommerce Template file out of date.
    2) I can’t update PHP past V7.4 without it breaking the site.
    3) ROYAL CORE plugin is being flagged by Wordfence with a security vulnerability.

I need a solution for all 3 items, please.

How long will it be before the update is released for whichever issue you mentioned is being addressed?

    Thank you.

We hope this message finds you well.

    1) The update is now available. However, since there have been modifications made to your child theme, we are unable to apply the update automatically. In order to proceed, we kindly ask you to provide us with FTP access so that we can manually update the necessary files in the child theme.

    2) Before upgrading the PHP version, please ensure that all plugins and WordPress itself are updated to their latest versions. We have tested the theme and Royal core on PHP version 8.2 and did not encounter any issues.

    3) Regarding the Wordfence plugin, there appears to be a false positive due to a conflict with another plugin that shares a similar name. To investigate this further, we kindly request that you provide us with the full error log.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best regards,

Please see my responses to you below in bold:

    1) The update is now available. However, since there have been modifications made to your child theme, we are unable to apply the update automatically. In order to proceed, we kindly ask you to provide us with FTP access so that we can manually update the necessary files in the child theme. – I have provided temporary WP Admin access via the “Private content area”. You should be able to access the needed file via the “Theme File Editor” in WordPress. Please be very careful, as this is the live site. Thank you!

    2) Before upgrading the PHP version, please ensure that all plugins and WordPress itself are updated to their latest versions. We have tested the theme and Royal core on PHP version 8.2 and did not encounter any issues. – I performed all available updates before posting in this support forum. You can confirm when you login. The only out of date items now are the theme bundled plugins that have had updates since your last theme update push. Let me know if you see anything that may be causing this issue.

    3) Regarding the Wordfence plugin, there appears to be a false positive due to a conflict with another plugin that shares a similar name. To investigate this further, we kindly request that you provide us with the full error log. – I believe you are correct in that it’s just a plugin with the same name. After looking further, it looks like the “Software Author” for the plugin being flagged is “Royal-Flush”.

    Thank you!

    Hello, EM,

Unfortunately, we are unable to make changes to the file using the “Theme File Editor” due to the following error:

“Unable to communicate back with site to check, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.”

We recommend using an alternative method, such as SFTP, to apply the necessary changes.

1.) How are you trying to make the change? By just copying/pasting the new code into the file? Are you able to provide me the file and I can copy/paste the code into “royal/woocommerce/cart/cart.php” myself?

Or provide me with instructions on what to do if it’s not copying/pasting?

I would prefer to only provide SFTP access as the very last option.

2.) Were you able to see anything as to why PHP would not update from V 7.4?

    Thank you so much!

Ok, so I assume I am just supposed to copy/paste the file content you sent into “royal/woocommerce/cart/cart.php”?

Also – were you able to look at why PHP will not update from V7.4? It doesn’t look like you have logged back in with the temp creds.

    Thanks!

I just compared the content of the file you sent with the content of the file currently at “royal/woocommerce/cart/cart.php” and it looks like the only difference between them is the version number. Please confirm and please let me know if you were able to see any reason why PHP will not update from V 7.4.

    Thanks!

    Hello, EM,

In order to identify and resolve issues related to updating the PHP version, we kindly ask you to update PHP, provide us with FTP access, and enable debug mode. We understand that making these changes on a live website can be challenging, so we recommend creating a staging site instead and sharing access credentials with us.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best regards,

I will have to look into creating a staging site.

Could you please answer this question: Ok, so I assume I am just supposed to copy/paste the file content you sent into “royal/woocommerce/cart/cart.php”?

    Thanks.

I was able to figure out the PHP version issue. So my original 3 questions have been answered.

    I have a couple more.

What is the current version of the “Royal Core” plugin?
Is the “Essential Grid” plugin a theme bundled plugin?

    Thanks!

    Hello, EM,

    1) The current version of the Royal Core plugin is 1.5.5.
    2) The Essential Grid plugin is included as a bundled plugin with the theme.
