Hello. Having trouble understanding the zoom feature as it is here:
https://www.8theme.com/demo/legenda/shop/elite-silver-ring/

I have it turned on in options, but I’m missing something about images sizes I think. I know woocommerce controls part of it, but it doesn’t matter what values I put for settings in theme options. Can someone please explain to me how to get zoom working?

Hello. In addition to some zoom feature help, if someone could tell me how to make the main product image smaller here: http://soclutch.ca/product/blue-purse/ that would be very helpful. I tried settings many times, but failed miserably. Thanks!

Hello,

In this case you need set image size in WooCommerce->Settings->Product->Display. Then regenerate your thumbnails with Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.

Hi Robert. Did this…didn’t work. I set sizes in WooCommerce to:

catalogue: 150 x 150
single product images: 300×300
product image gallery: 100×100.

Then I regenerated thumbnails. Images still appear at the size they were.

Robert…every time I try to find a solution I get “read the docs” I’ve read legenda’s docs and there is no information on this. I read woocommerce product image resizes and follow steps to regen thumbs. No result.

Nothing I do resizes images. I uploaded images that are all the same size. This shouldn’t be rocket surgery. I’ve spent hours on this issue alone. Getting a bit ridiculous. The support you guys provide is basically telling me to do what I’ve already tried.

Can you please investigate and offer a solution?

I’d like the zoom feature to work, the single product image to work…and it would be awesome if I had a source of information that could tell me how woo works with the theme so I wouldnt have to post to support to get this going. Legenda documentation is missing a LOT.

Help? What do you suggest. Sorry I sound frustrated, but this should be easy. Pretty basic funcdtionality. I see many, many , many (did I mention “many”), many people posting here and elsewhere about the lack of clarity or information on resizing photos. All i see is “change settings in woocommerce and regen thumbs”. How many times do the legenda developers need to hear that that is not working until it is improved…or documentation is improved?

Hello,

We’re sorry for the troubles you’re experiencing. Please take our apologies for inconveniences.
Concerning the zoom effect, to make it work you need reupload your images with higher resolution.
Now your images are too small, but the original dimensions should be 1425px × 1900px approximately and then it will be scaled to the sizes you set in Woocommerce settings.
Please try it.

Thanks very much, Eva! That is pretty huge. But…could you please answer my question about resizing images? No matter what I do, I cannot resize the main single product image or other images. I’ve read the docs, both Legenda and Woocommerce. Any guidance would be helpful.

Hello,

Please take our apologies but image dimensions can’t be changed on a single product page in theme options as they can be distorted. It can be edited only in the theme file legenda/woocommerce/single-product/product-image.php. Also changes in custom.css need to be made.

you say it can be changed “Theme Options > Product Page Layout > Product Images Width and Product Images Height.”

I’ve tried that and it doesn’t work. So CSS is the only option?

Hello,

There – Theme Options > Product Page Layout > Product Images Width and Product Images Height – you can change sizes for the products on Shop page, but not on a single product page.
It can be done only editing the file legenda/woocommerce/single-product/product-image.php and custom.css.

Thanks Eva. The documentation is so incomplete on sizing product images. It should be far more detailed with screenshots. There is confusion (that everyone seems to have) because it is unclear what images sizes woocommerce controls and which Legenda controls.

For example, Legenda has Theme Options > Single Product Page, which has width and height fields, but you have just told me you cannot change the size on single product pages. Why have the width and height fields available in Theme Options > Single Product Page then?

So far, I’ve learned the only product image size I have any control over is on product pages, which will set products in shop, categories, featured products, related products.

Single products are displaying at 500×500 – because I uploaded a square high res image – but I have no idea why it is at that size and there is no corresponding setting.

What does woo control? What does legenda control? Please tell the Legenda folks to update there docs. I like this theme, but this one issue with product size confusion and lack of documentation is making me sorry I purchased it.

Suggestion. Create a screenscast video demonstrating how to size images: set shop image sizes, product page sizes etc. What WooCommerce controls, what Legenda controls. It would save you hours of support replies.
