Hi 8Theme Team,
We’re running XStore on a WooCommerce site and have identified a performance issue through a server-side investigation that we believe is related to the theme’s cart fragment refresh behavior.
We’re seeing a high volume of requests to /?wc-ajax=get_refreshed_fragments and /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php, which are uncached and require full PHP processing on every call. Our PHP-FPM worker pool (limit: 50 workers) has been saturating as a result, with some workers taking up to ~480 seconds to complete. This appears tied to how frequently XStore’s cart/mini-cart triggers a fragment refresh via AJAX, and the volume increases significantly under bot/crawler traffic.
We’ve confirmed this occurs using XStore’s own default mini-cart widget, with no third-party cart plugins active — so this is specific to the theme’s native cart AJAX behavior.
Could your team:
Advise whether the frequency of the cart fragment refresh can be reduced or configured (e.g., not firing on every page load, or excluded for non-cart pages and bot/crawler user agents)
Confirm whether there’s a setting or filter to limit or disable automatic fragment refresh where it isn’t needed
Let us know if there’s a known compatibility issue between XStore’s cart AJAX and page-caching setups that could explain this load
Happy to provide full error/access logs, a site URL, or further diagnostic detail as needed.
Thanks
