XStore Baby Store – after v5 update menu not right

Hello

I updated one of my sites running the Baby Shop demo variant of XStore to v5.1.1 from v4.28.

After the update, I imported the latest options.json file for Baby Store, and cleared both the browser and CDN cache.

The menu no longer looks as it should do. The menu background height is wrong and not the same as your latest demo. In the Baby Shop demo, there are white bullet points separating each menu item. In my site, the dots are in completely the wrong position and right next to the text, not evenly distributed between menu items.

It’s my opinion that the options.json file you provided does not have the version you have in the demo.

Please, can you kindly advise me how to correct the menu on my site?

Thanks for getting back to me. It didn’t work, unfortunately. The only change it made was resetting my logo back to the demo logo. The styling for the menu seems no different to the options.json that comes with XStore v5.1.1 in the folder XML_files_5.1.1\baby-shop\options.json.

Note, also when each page in the site loads, there seems to be a couple of seconds delay when the menu appears after everything else. Not sure if this is related.

Hello,

Logo was reset because you imported options from the demo. So, just choose the logo that you need.
Delay for the menu is related to Smart menu option (Theme Options > Menu), this option is useful if your menu is very long, then it hides the few last menu items under the hamburger icon that you can open by click to find hidden items, the delay is needed to calculate the width of the menu and avoid bad looking of the menu. If you don’t have the long menu then just disable this option.

Turning off Smart Menu has helped with the delay. I already understood why the logo was reset.

However, the appearance of the menu still is not right. It was not fixed with the options.json file you sent me.

Please see private content for full access to WP admin and FTP. Please note that this is a staging site for support purposes. The site has an .htaccess password. You might have to refresh the page when you first land on it for the htaccess login to appear (CDN issue with http auth).

You will notice that when you click a menu link, like “Contact Us”, the text for that menu item disappears and is replaced with a dot.

Sorry, but it’s not completely fixed after all. The menu background height is fixed, but one of the problems that I previously mentioned was that when I click on a menu item, e.g. Contact Us page, the menu item disappears from view. This is because the active link colour is the same as the background image used for the menu. When you scroll down, the active menu item because visible when the background of the header changes to white. I say this again, the css styles provided with the theme does not match your demo site.

Please, can you kindly:
- provide a fix
- let us know what the fix was on here, so it helps others in future with the same problem?

Hello,

We’ll fix this issue in next theme update. Meanwhile, upload xstore/framework/theme-options.php file to your production site directory and then change the Menu 1 level hover/active color http://prntscr.com/lg8mek

To fix the previous problem we changed menu paddings http://prntscr.com/lg8mzp
