    Hi

    I have just imported the demo content for the new Fashion demo. The settings for the header is not the right one, and options like menu font face and font colour are all wrong, as well as theme options for the rest of the site.

    In previous versions of XStore, when the options were not imported, I just imported options.json from the provided xml folders for a particular demo. Now in version 6.0 there is a XStore_import_files.zip in your downloads, but in the fashion subfolder, there is no .json file to import options, only a .dat file. I tried to import this dat in Theme Options > Customize > Import/Export but it would not accept this .dat file.

    Please, can you provide the options.json file if the .dat is not what I want?

    I also require the options.json file for v6.1 for the designers demo please? as some things now no longer work for that also.

    kind regards

    Hello,

    We have updated import files at the Downloads section. Now archive includes Minimalist Outfits and Home decor demos import.

    After migration to the Kirki framework to import theme option you should use options.dat file http://prntscr.com/pdtjwl There is no json import file anymore for new versions. So, if you are using the latest version of our theme and trying to import the options.dat file you should not face any issues with uploading of this file.

    Besides, if you import demo via XStore > Install Demos all the options imported ok but if you use manual import we found that some previous options that were not changed in the file you imported do not change (for example you had the red color for buttons but the new version use the default color and don’t have any custom color in settings then after import of the new option the previously selected red color won’t be overwritten by the empty value)
    We are working to fix this.

    Thanks for responding.

    I downloaded the import files for v6.1.2. I then attempted to import the options.dat file for Fashion demo. I got the error message: “Error importing settings! The settings you uploaded are not for the current theme.“.

    Is this because I changed the theme folder name?

    … update from my previous message…

    I edited the options.dat file and changed the line first part of the file from

    a:4:{s:8:"template";s:6:"xstore";

    to

    a:4:{s:8:"template";s:6:"mythemename";

    I now get this new error:
    Error importing settings! Please check that you uploaded a customizer export file.

    Not sure what is happening, but it simply won’t import the options.dat file.

    Hello,

    Our theme uses the Customizer Export/Import plugin to import/export theme options via Customizer. And unfortunately, it has some limits like the theme name where the export file was came from http://prntscr.com/pefote https://help.edublogs.org/customizer-exportimport-plugin/
    Also,

    you can’t modify the .dat file as that breaks the serialized PHP arrays

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/import-function-not-working-when-changing-dat-file/

    You may try to edit xstore/framework/thirdparty/customizer-export-import/classes/class-cei-core.php file and delete/comment out the part of code to remove template limit http://prntscr.com/pefc52 but we don’t guarantee that all the options will be imported correctly.

    Hi
    Sorry, I didn’t get an email informing me that you had responded.

    I already purchased 8 licenses for XStore. This issue means that I am unlikely to purchase any more licenses if it prevents me from importing a demo. I absolutely will not have xstore as a path in the wp-content directory, as my clients and their competitors will see the theme used. I know for a fact that many others will feel the same way about having to include the theme name in the directory path. it is preferable to have the clients’ site name in the path instead.

    Now you mentioned that “it has some limits like the theme name”. Is this the theme name declared in the styles.css file? What about the template name and folder name? Are these off-limits when changing also? I can keep the Theme name the same, but need to change that folder name, this is the main point.

    I will look at your suggestions over the weekend and come back to you.

    Regards
    Robert

    Hello,

    “theme name” – means folder name. At this moment we could offer you 2 solutions:
    1) Free theme installation from our side of the version you need with manual changing of options.
    2) Variant described in the previous message (removing part of the code)
    3) Move to phpmyadmin and delete his currently created theme_mods_* which WordPress created then rename his imported setting. If you can not do this we can do it and record video for you then you’ll be able to change it from next time.

    Every client is very important for us, so we want to do our best to help you with the next theme installations using our theme.

    Hi Olga

    Thanks for responding.

    You mentioned two solutions, however, you listed three parts altogether: 1), 2) & 3). I am uncertain if parts 2) and 3) are seperate solutions or two stages of the same second solution? This is confusing. I’m going on the assumption that parts 2) and 3) should be executed together…

    I altered the file class-cei-core.php, and commented out the code in your screenshot; this bit was easy enough to do. I am having trouble understanding your instructions for part 3) in which you describe changing something in phpmyadmin.

    I logged into phpmyadmin for the site’s database.
    I did a search in the database for the text “theme_mods_”. There were two results with option names that match in the search result:

    theme_mods_twentynineteen
    and
    theme_mods_mythemename-child

    I am not sure what to do from here, or if doing a search is what I needed to do at this stage. Please can you provide a video or provide more step-by-step instructions for the phpmyadmin stage?

    Regards
    Robert

    UPDATE

    I only carried out step 2) of your three suggestions. For the fashion demo, the import of options.dat appears to have worked. There are a few minor problems which I will list below:-

    Issue 1) In the static block, “Footer – Fashion”, there are two menu’s. The top one uses the element [8Theme Menu]. On my site, the spacing between menu items is not right, it appears much less space between menu items. How can I adjust the spacing between menu items, please?

    Issue 2) In the bottom menu in this static block, its created by HTML code, not the [8Theme Menu] element. My menu for some reasons appears vertically, not horizontally as in the demo on your site. How do I change this to match the demo?

    Issue 3) On the Sop page of your demo, the header background image is found below the breadcrumbs, but above the page content. On my site, I had to upload the image using ‘featured image’ in the Shop page. However, the image shows behind the breadcrumbs, not below it. I have looked through the Theme Options, but I can’t find a setting to control where this background image is displayed. Please, can you assist?

    Hello,

    I am glad that you sorted out. Olga will be available on Monday, but I will do my best to help you during this weekend.
    1) Please add this code in Theme Options > Theme Custom CSS:

    .footer .menu-element .menu li > a {
        padding: .77em 1.07em;
    }

    2)

    .footer-widgets .custom-footer-menu li {
        display: inline-block;
    }

    3) Here are screenshots of settings from the demo – http://prntscr.com/pi9aql http://prntscr.com/pi9auc http://prntscr.com/pi9ayv

    Thank you very much Olga and Rose for all your suggestions. The footer area is now looking like the demo, and I managed to also change the banner area for the Shop page.

    What I would like to see is the possibility in future for me to change the banner area for all pages and posts, with the ability to choose different static blocks for each page and post for XStore. Another one of the themes I use has this feature for all pages and posts, and I find it very useful. Please see private content to a link to one of my sites with another theme.

    The other things I’d like to be able to do as per the site you see in the private content is the option to be able to place the banner static block above the breadcrumbs text… same as my example. Please read private content for the description of what I mean with example pages. Do you think that this could be a feature your developers could include in a future version of XStore? In my humble opinion, it looks cool on my example site.

    … following on from my last message…

    please, can I have the PSDs for the new Fashion demo? On the Home page and About us pages are tiled areas containing images with text which I would like to be able to edit. On the Home Page, one image is a black image with white text, and another is a picture with text saying “TREND 2019”.

    If you have these preferably as Illustrator files, then if not PSDs?

    Regards

    Thanks Roe & Olga

    Thanks for considering my suggestion. I will post to the XStore Features thread in future.

    Also, many thanks for the PSDs. The new site is almost finished already.

    Hi again
    This is the absolute last query for this site, as its finished and made live today.

    On the bottom of the Fashion demo, when first imported are two Menu’s in the footer area (static block). The top menu was created with a [8Theme] menu element, whist the lower menu was originally made with some HTML code.

    I deleted the code for the lower menu, replacing it with the [8Theme] menu element like the one above it. I had to include some css to change the li font size, spacing, and right-border to match the original HTML menu. The result looks good, but the problem is that this menu is no longer vertically aligned in its area of the footer anymore and seems to sit close to the bottom of the page.

    I will include login details for you to take a look in the private content area. Any suggestion how to make this menu automatically sit in the middle of the row would be helpful. I wanted to avoid using blank space or margins in case it looked different on different devices. The row already has been aligned to the centre vertically. I have no idea why this menu isn’t vertically centered and the one above it is?

    Update, I put padding 35px in the bottom of the WPBakery column and that seems to have made it look better for now.
