Hello,
Please can you tell me the quickest way of restoring the old CSS from version 4 please. After upgrading to version 5 I have lost all that beautiful subtle typography and other elegant elements.
I believe I was using the Home Flat demo, but this doesn’t appear to be available in this new version.
I can still see the old CSS on your demo here: https://www.8theme.com/demo/xstore/ and I’d like to restore that styling please.
Many thanks
–Gary.
Hello,
We can just downgrade the theme to version 4.28.1 if you prefer the old styling of the XStore theme.
Provide FTP access to your site.

Well, that wouldn’t be a very satisfactory way of solving the issue, in my opinion. That means I wouldn’t have the benefit of any added features, etc., or even any future bugfixes.
I spent a lot of time choosing your theme because of the styling, so it makes no sense to me that you’ve changed it so drastically.
Is there really no way of reverting to the CSS of the previous version without downgrading it?
Hello,
We can help you to get back some styles by custom CSS but there is no option to revert the previous version completely, unfortunately.
Let me know what elements do you want to change as it was before? We’ll do our best to help you because we plan cool options for future updates and it would be better for you to use 5.0 version if you just started the creation of the site.

Hi Olga,
Many thanks, that’s encouraging news. I have invested a lot of time into choosing and learning various aspects of your theme and how to apply it to what I want my site to achieve. It would be incredibly disappointing to find that all my efforts have been wasted, or that I would be limited to an old version for the lifetime of the theme. Although I appreciate the value of the theme being faster and smaller, I have to say that I prefer the old style theme in almost every other regard.
As for what elements I’d like ‘as before’, I am tempted to say ‘all of them’, but hopefully it’s mainly fonts, font weight, font sizes, line spacing, all caps titles and so on. For now, the main areas of concern are:
Font in top bar
Larger icons and rollover colours in top bar & header
Blog category all caps
Blog title all caps
Blog text/preview text font styles
Shop carousel tab headers font styles
Shop carousel category, product name, price, etc, font styles
Footer text styling, headers and main text
Footer & sidebar tag labels font styling
Footer & sidebar horizontal line between ‘Latest Posts’
Product crossells/Upsells font styling
Sidebar menus header & menu items text styling and horizontal lines
Horizontal line not desired under header section
Page heading (+breadcrumb section) font styling
Shop Category page sidebar heading styles
Shop category page, product name, price, etc, font styles
Similar font styling throughout the theme (font, font weights, font sizes, line spacing, all caps titles, etc on dropdown menus, individual product pages and portfolio for example).
Again, I much prefer the old style shop category page filters/pagination, but I understand that will be more difficult to change, other than the font styles.
I have made some screen grabs to illustrate my points, which you can view via the link in the private content part below.
Please let me know what you think will be possible.
Many thanks again!
Hello, Olga.
We’re facing the exact same problem that the old CSS and layouts (and some of the must-use function) are gone.
I’m just wondering if you could possibly update a version just with the upgration of the site performance (For example the Speed Optimization) without affecting the old CSS?
I have attached the screenshot below in the private content of the errors appeared on my website. Hopefully you could have a check and let me know if you have any good suggestion.
Thanks a lot!

Hello, @fishmonkeyman
Check now. If I missed something just let me know.

Hello, @Graham
Yes, we changed some styles. Let me know which one do you want to get back?
I checked the variable product and don’t see the described problem.

Hello Olga,
Thank you for your help, actually we’ve reverted the website to its 4.xx version for now. I’m considering to create a staging website in a few days later and then we can change the styles and push the staging to live site then.
—Before that, May I ask you to have a check of a small icon bug after restoring the site?
—Screenshot: https://ibb.co/gOiaJp
—Problem: Instead of the PLUS icon, it is now showing an info icon.
WP access password is attached below
Thanks in advance.

Supplement Info:
Sorry just found there’s another small bug in the Shop page Breadcrumb:

—Problem: The shop repeated the name in the breadcrumb.
Can you pls also have a check at the same time?
Thanks a lot
The 1st problem – Small Icon bug is fixed now- Please skip the 1st question.
Thank you very much
Hello Olga,
First of all, thank you so much for your speedy attention to this matter, it is very much appreciated, and I feel a great deal more encouraged.
I haven’t had much time to review all the changes you have made (I am away on a business trip until next week), but it looks a great deal better to me. There are a couple of things I have immediately noticed that aren’t quite right;
The main menu submenu dropdowns aren’t formatted
The blog post page main body text is in all BOLD.
The sidebar menu – menu items aren’t vertically centred.
I’d appreciate it if you could fix these items at your convenience.
Once again, thank you.
Hello, @Graham
Try to add the following code in child theme style.css to fix the breadcrumbs.
.page-heading.bc-type-left2 .woocommerce-breadcrumb, .page-heading.bc-type-left2 .breadcrumbs {
font-size: 0 !important;
}
Update at the staging site is a good idea. It will allow you to compare things that you want to change in the new version and implement them.

Hello, @fishmonkeyman
Ok.
1) Remember that a lot of things you can manage from Theme Options http://prntscr.com/l4ryvb Check now.
2) The blog post page main body text is in all BOLD. – I don’t see that post text is bold http://prntscr.com/l4s0eh Could you provide link and screenshot for better understanding.
3) Fixed.

Hi Olga,
Once again, many thanks for your quick attention to this matter.
3. Thank you!
2. The CSS varies in different browsers (I’m using Windows):
In Firefox and IE, *all* of the text on the individual post pages appear in bold.
This is also the case for my Windows laptop in Chrome.
In Chrome on my desktop Windows machine, none of your CSS changes are apparent.
1. Menus are fine in FF, Fine but right justified in IE, unchanged in Chrome.
So all different, but none as I would like! Screen caps in download link in private content.
Best,
–Gary.
Further to my previous message, the Chrome Desktop screen shot was due to browser cache. All three browsers show all the text on the blog post pages as all bold.
Thanks,
–Gary.
Hello,
Check now, please.

Hello, Olga
There seems to be an error when applied the above code:
.page-heading.bc-type-left2 .woocommerce-breadcrumb, .page-heading.bc-type-left2 .breadcrumbs {
font-size: 0 !important;
}

Can you pls have a check?

Awesome, that looks great! Thanks so much for your speedy attention.
Is it possible to let me know where you’ve made these changes, or how they’ve been applied, please? Is it a separate CSS file, or will I have to update the main CSS after each further update?
Very many thanks!
–Gary.
Hello, @fishmonkeyman
We have made changes in child theme style.css file and you won’t lose it after next parent theme update.
