    Hello,

I can’t seem to translate the theme with WPML. I can see al the strings, no problem. Also it shows the translation is complete, but still it doesn’t change.
When I change the line in the php file it changes immediately. In the languages folder it shows my translations are empty, but WPML shows that there are some strings translated…

Is there a cache or something like that or is it just not working properly?

Admin credentials in the private section. Note: site is Dutch.

    Greetings,
    Jacky

    Hello,

As I see you’ve edited parent style.css and changed text domain to “mensroom” instead of “classico”. So I activated parent theme and re-scanned the strings in WPML settings. Now non-translated strings are visible in String Translation section http://storage3.static.itmages.com/i/16/0414/h_1460645377_8705015_114e15839e.png with domain “mensroom” that you set. Translate the strings you need.
We don’t recommend to edit parent style.css file as after theme update you’ll lose the changes, you can customize only child theme.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

Wish I could say that it worked, but sadly that would be a no. Changed the strings to what I want, but no change.

Installed the theme on a fresh test-domain, get the right text domain (Classico) but translation doesn’t change. What does change is the string-translation for the domain ethemes. Sadly that domain doesn’t have all the strings that I want to translate.

    Greetings,
    Jacky

    For example:

    – No products in the cart.
    – Return to shop (on shop page when cart is empty)
    – Product Information
    – successfully added to your shopping cart
    – Recently added item(s)
    – The cart buttons when there is a product added.

I think I could go on but I guess it’s safe to say that none of them can be translated.

I transferred the Classico (downloaded from themeforest as is) to the ftp if you want to use a “fresh” theme.

    Greetings,
    Jacky

    Hello,

As you reverted parent theme back I’ve re-scanned the strings again.
So now you need translate “classico” domain strings:

    Please check it.

    Checked, translated but no difference.

Tested something on the other test-site and the translation works somewhat fine. Sometimes you need to use the Classico domain, sometimes ethemes domain.

Is it wise maybe to delete all the themes and WPML? Maybe that would help…

    Hello,

Please refer to WPML articles as your default language is not English:

    Hello Eva,

It seems to be fixed now. Deleted WPML and rescanned the theme, now it’s working fine.

I have another question but I will be opening a new ticket for that.

    Thanks for the help!
