Hi!
I’m not sure if this is beyond the scope of your support, but I have a query regarding the lightbox effect for the WPBakery Masony/Media Grid elements.
Before a recent update, the images were opening in (what I assume to be) FancyBox lightbox, with navigation and image title below the image.
Now they open as a single image with no styling and no navigation.
I have a couple of other plugins which appear to use FancyBox (although it’s not installed as a standalone plugin) but I can’t find an WPBakery option to change the lightbox in any case. I’ve tried intsalling a couple of FancyBox plugins but they make no difference to the way the WPB grid images open.
So, my question is: is there a simple way of having the WPB grid images open in Fancybox (i.e. without having to install a bloated gallery plugin)?
Many thanks for any advice you can offer,
Best,
–Gary.
Hello,
Unfortunately, WPBakery uses Pretty Photo to open the image https://prnt.sc/19p2sb2
There is no option to choose another library.
Regards
Many thanks again for your swift response.
1. Even if it’s the only option, I don’t think Pretty Photo is working properly for me – please see screencaps in private content.
2. Is there any way for the ‘standard’ WPBakery image gallery block lightbox to display the image title or description under the image instead of just ‘Image 1 of 2’?
3. Also, related to the WPBakery Masonry/Media Gallery, no matter which animation I choose, e.g. ‘fade in’, the images always seem to tumble in from bottom left. I can’t seem to change that.
Thanks again,
–Gary.
Hello,
1)
What I’d expect to see with PrettyPhoto:
https://i.gyazo.com/8fac6c59e36aa7bc9c39c2db78fd6264.png
this is a screenshot of the LIght-box library, not the Pretty Photo library.
Styles of the Pretty Photo and its content come from the WooCommerce plugin and we can do nothing with this.
It works the same way even with the default WP theme – Storefront https://gyazo.com/e3fb7e9c14ff1f6708d8fa495d368962
We can just offer you the below custom to change the colors of the titles and improve mobile styles
a.pp_contract, a.pp_expand {
width: 30px;
height: 28px;
}
div.pp_default .pp_content_container .pp_description {
color: #fff;
bottom: auto;
}
Added to your custom CSS
2) This is how WPBakery works and that they display in the Lightbox. Our theme does not have any additional options for this, unfortunately.
Regards
I very much appreciate for your swift response, and for the CSS, but I am looking for a navigable solution.
Perhaps I’m not asking the right question:
How do I achieve the lightbox effect as seen on your Main Demo 1 (Classic) here please?:

Many thanks again,

Hello,
We used Masonry media grid and item design Masonry media: Default https://prnt.sc/1ale2sm
I see that you use the same but it uses a different structure. I passed your issue to our developers.

Hi,
I’ve logged in to the Cloudflare account now.
Very many thanks.

Hello,
Thank you.

Hello, just checking to see if any progress have been made with my issue, thank you.
–Gary.
Hello,
We released the major update and got a lot of requests from customers. We need more time to take a look at the gallery issue. Sorry for this delay.
Regards
OK, no worries, thanks for the update. I’ll update the theme in the meantime.
Hello,
Thank you very much for your understanding
Wait for a stable version of theme on Monday-Tuesday. Or we’ll update the theme by ourselves before fixing the problem with the gallery.

Hi,
I’ve had another crack at diagnosing the issue myself, and weirdly it seems that there’s a conflict between the WPB Masonry Media Grid lightbox and the YITH Woo Wishlist plugin.
If I switch the Wishlist plugin OFF, I get the Fancybox style lightbox. If YITH is ON, then I get the plain vanilla lightbox with no navigation.
As both plugins are included with/recommended by 8theme, I guess there must be something else going on here. I’d be really grateful if you could take a look when you can.
Further Note: YITH WL + Woocommerce active together appear to cause the issue, not just YITH WL. With WooCommerce OFF and YITH WL ON, the Fancybox lightbox works.
Many thanks,
–Gary.
Hello,
We have contacted the YITH Wishlist plugin author with this question https://wordpress.org/support/topic/conflict-with-the-wpbakery-gallery/ because it happens even with the default theme not just with the XStore theme.
Regards
Thank you. I’ll keep an eye on the forum there.
Hello,
You are welcome.

Hi,
I see that someone (presumably from YITH) has responded to your support request, but it makes no sense to me whatsoever, so I’d be grateful of an update about what can be done about my issue.
Thanks!
–Gary.
Hello,
That user also asks why do they call their styles and scripts for all the pages instead of using it for the Wishlist page only. The plugin author does not answer our questions.
We tried to disable their scripts using hooks but with no result, unfortunately. So, we need their answer about this.
Regards
Hi!
Thanks for your response. I see that the YITH plugin support has responded –
I have added his code to the Xstore child theme’s functions.php file and…
IT WORKS!
At least, so far, it appears to work as intended, and I haven’t noticed any other issues as yet.
So, I won’t close this thread for a few days to make sure! But I am very happy at the moment.
Many thanks for your help!
Best,
–Gary.
