WooCommerce Composite Products + Related Products theme issue

Hi There!

First of all, great theme!

We are building a site that uses Composite Products. When setting up the product we ran into a big performance issue adding 3-5 seconds to the page load. The issue disappears if I turn “Display Related Products” off.

With the Related Products turned ON: 1600 + queries on the single product page
With the Related Products turned ON: 450 queries on the single product page

I checked it with Query Monitor, and the problem is that I think the theme tries to display and check the related products for EVERY variation that is included in the Composite. This makes the site unbearably slow…

Could you please check the issue? I am sure it slows down many cients site using Composite products, and I know you take performance seriously.

Sorry, the second query number is with Related Products turned OFF.

Hi!

Thanks for getting back.

Unfortunately that is not a supportive answer.

I am NOT asking for customization, neither setting up 3rd party plugins. This is supporting your theme.

I am asking for some help to debug YOUR theme that has a flaw. Since you are the developer of the theme, it would take little time to check what theme function causes the issue so we can create a solution for it.

Also I will rephrase this problem since I checked it with a simple variable product as well.
With your related product tab ON: 2467! Queries
With your related product tab OFF: 929 queries

I also checked the related product functionality with the Storefront theme, the issue disappears, so it is not a Woo issue. It is a WooPress issue.

Now. WooCommerce is a supported plugin right? Do you think adding 1500 unnecessary queries to a product page is considered “performance focused”?

Again, I am trying to be helpful here but the negligence of a serious flaw is not what I expect from a top themes developer on ThemeForest.
