    I’ve got the known problem of white space under the footer on pages with not much content. I’ve seen that many users have this problem and you suggested to add html {overflow: hidden;}, but this did’t help for me. I also tried with !important, but no change. Any help would be really appreciated..

    Hello,

    The problem is you didn’t add any content to your pages.
    Please add some content, elements with Visual Composer editor and check footer position after that.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Please check following lines in style.css of the Child Theme:

    .page-heading {
      margin-bottom: 30px;
      padding: 20px 0;
      text-align: center;
      background: url(images/bg-light-strippped.png) repeat;
    display: none;
    }

    You may remove display: none; white space will disappear too.

    With best regards
    Brian Johnson

    Thanks for your answer but this is not a problem of my childtheme (Brian I tried your suggestions but this has nothing to do with the footer). when I activate the not-modified parent theme, the problem is the same. It’s always on those pages with not much content. Eva, I’ve added a textblock to the landing page, but the problem is still the same.

    Hello,

    I’ve added text block with padding also and now it’s looking fine.
    When you complete the page with some content this white space will removed.

    Regards,
    Robert Hall.

    Ok, so I will first fill my pages, hoping that the content I add is enough to get the footer to the bottom. If the problem still exists, I will let you know. Thank you so far.

    Update: The page that says “No products in the cart” has not much content, means that I will always have the problem at least on this page..

    Please disable also all 3-d party plugins one by one. Maybe one of them is causing the issue.

    I disabled everything except woocommerce, still the same problem. I’m sure that this is a problem of the theme..

    Hello,

    You mustn’t copy the whole content of style.css into your child theme. Please read how to create style.css in the child theme correctly:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

    You need write only style modifications you want to apply for your site, there is no need to copy all code.

    Please change it.

    Thank you.

    Hi Eva,
    yes I know but it is easier to copy the whole code, change it, and then (when everything is ready) use the compare function of notepad++ to delete the not-modified parts.
    But this has nothing to do with my problem. As demonstrated, the problem exists also with the not-modified parent theme and also when all plugins are disabled.

    Ah ok cool, adding empty content under the main content of pages with “static content” is a good idea – thank you! But what would you suggest for such pre-built pages like the “Your cart is empty” page? If I add empty space under the cart page it looks fine when the cart is empty. But when there are products in the cart, the additional empty space is just too much. Isn’t there any solution to fix this via css?

    I just tried the follwing:

    .row {
    min-height: 500px !important;
    }

    and it seems like it does the trick for the cart page! But of course this will make problems on other pages, but maybe I could do this for specific pages like cart page like:

    body.page-id-6 .row {
    min-height: 500px !important;
    }

    Do you think that this is a good solution? Or is there a besser way to change the height dynamically?

    Seams like

    .row {
    min-height: 500px !important;
    }

    works for all pages, I don’t have to apply it only for specific pages. What do you think of this solution?

    Hello,

    You are on the right way. If this works for all pages, it’s good. But if you need to separate pages, just add the code for them as you posted above.

    Regards,
    Robert Hall.

    Yes, my solution seems to work for all pages.
    But I just noticed that my childtheme has disappeared from Codestyling localization. Did someone of you edit something there or in my functions.php?

    Hello,

    We didn’t change anything in the files.
    Did you create a back up of your site?
    Try to restore it to the previous WordPress version.

    Thank you.

    Ok thank you for the info. There was a bug in style.css (no idea when it was created) so it didn’t work anymore. But I’ve found it and now everything works fine again 🙂
