    Hi there,

I would like to translate the website also to German. What is the best way?
Should I use Loco Translate or another translation plugin?
Is there any PO file for German that I can import?

    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your quick response.

If I’m using the child theme, do I have to upload the PO translation file of XStore to the XStore theme or to the XStore child theme?

    Best regards,
    Patrick

    Hello, Patrickjanko,

The translation should be done for the parent theme, and it will be automatically inherited by the child theme.
The child theme should be translated only in case you added custom code in the child theme that includes localization functions.

    Ok, understood.

Now I get an error “Missing placeholders; source text formatting suggest at least 1.” What does it mean?

    Screenshot is attached.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Ok, it’s solved, and working.
But where can I translate for example “Deal of the Day”? I cannot find it into the translation files.

And where is the possibility to change the languages within the frontend theme.

    Screenshot is attached.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

In the context my question is related to the translation files.
If I visit the shop from Germany the text should be appear in German.
If I visit the shop from the Netherlands the text should appear in English.

But for example into the translation file (source) there is no entry for “Deal of the Day”.

    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Hello,

To create the multilanguage site you need additional plugins https://colorlib.com/wp/wordpress-multilingual-plugins/ If you choose the WPML https://xstore.helpscoutdocs.com/article/31-translation-with-wpml then a currency switcher will be included.
