Website – very slow - by Giles - on WordPress WooCommerce support

Hi, I love this theme for it’s design options and features but when i compare it to other themes runnng on the same server , it seems very, very slow. Our client is asking if there’s anything we can do about it so I said I would ask you guys. If we can’t get it running quicker, we might have to rebuild it using another theme but i really am hoping it doesnt come to that because everything else about it is great.

Can you perhaps login and see if there’s anything that can be done or any other advice.

I have put the link to the site is the private area as i don’t want this to be picked up in Google.

Hello,

Try to reduce the number of plugins that you use because every additional plugin calls the JS and CSS files. Optimize images because images on your home page take 2.4Mb. I have installed the cache plugin and the speed results are better https://tools.pingdom.com/#5d3914f0f2000000 We don’t have other options in our theme to speed it up.

Thanks – what plugin did you install? It still seems quite slow but I’ll check the images. Also, maybe the instagram feed will be slowing it down.

You are welcome.
I installed Hummingbird plugin. You may try any other cache you plugin you prefer (WPRoket or W3 Total cache etc).
