I am interested in utilizing Elementor-based builders, which provide me with the flexibility to design single product pages according to my preferences. While Customizer is a useful tool, it does have its limitations.

However, I have a question for dear Xstore team – what is your experience with performance? Which option would yield faster results – Elementor or Customizer-based templates? How much speed would I potentially sacrifice if I were to use Elementor for the header, footer, and single product page?
I am striving for every millisecond on page load and I must admit, it is a challenging task and I know that Elementor is not the fastest builder on the planet but on the other hand, I am facing some constraints with Customizer.

    PS:
Of course, I do not expect precise measurements, but I am certain that you have valuable insights from developing these distinct features.

    Hello, Krzysztof,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

If you plan to use Elementor for building your website pages, we highly recommend using it for the header and footer as well. This approach will enhance the loading speed by approximately 10%, as a single builder loads faster than two separate ones.

Currently, we advise using customizer builders only when working with WPBakery Page Builder, as it does not include built-in header and footer builders.

    Best regards,
    8Theme Team

Thank you for your response. In order to further improve my understanding of how it works, could you please confirm that if I am already utilizing Elementor for e.g. pages, it would be highly recommended to replace the current/default Customizer-based header and footer with new Elementor-based templates through Xstore Builders?

What about other elements in Builders? I am currently using a Builder for the Search page, should I also create Single Product, Product Archive, etc. in order to have a fully Elementor-based page, which could potentially increase its speed?
Or was your recommendation solely for the header and footer?

I am simply trying to understand how far should I incorporate Elementor-based templates in my design and replacing default features. My main concern is page speed at the moment …

    Hello, Krzysztof,

If you are already using Elementor for building pages, we highly recommend replacing the default Customizer-based header and footer with new Elementor-based templates through XStore Builders. This will ensure better design consistency and flexibility across your website.

Regarding the search pages, product archive, and single product pages, we also recommend recreating them using Elementor for a more seamless and customizable experience.

Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

We’d like to update you on the speed and performance improvements in XStore.
Over the past few months, our team has focused heavily on optimizing theme performance. As evidence, our public optimised demo now scores 98+ on mobile and 100+ on desktop in PageSpeed tests—showing that XStore is fully tuned for speed.

However, we’ve identified another major factor affecting site responsiveness: bot traffic. On several client sites, automated bots have been generating large numbers of requests to dynamic filter URLs on the shop page over 50K requests per day. Even on powerful servers, this volume of repeated queries can cause noticeable slowdowns.

To help you investigate this, we’ll share detailed screenshots in the private support area showing bot-generated request patterns. You’ll see exactly why your server may be under strain.

    What we’ve done so far:
    • Reviewed and optimized all frontend assets (CSS/JS, images, lazy-loading).
    • Improved our AJAX-filter endpoints to reduce query overhead.
    • Hardened nofollow and other standard directives—though some bots still ignore them.

Our team continues to refine these protections. In the meantime, please verify whether bot traffic is impacting your site’s load.

    Next steps:
    1. Upgrade to XStore 9.5.1. This release includes all our latest speed optimizations and server-side performance enhancements. You can download the archive in the Downloads section on our website https://www.8theme.com/downloads/ or from your Downloads area on ThemeForest.
    2. Deploy a bot-protection service.
To block 100% of unwanted crawlers, consider using Cloudflare (or a similar WAF) to filter malicious traffic before it reaches your server.

Thank you for your patience. If you have any questions or need help reviewing your server logs and request patterns, please let us know in the private support forum.

    Best regards,
    The XStore Team
