    Hi,

i am not able to update VC.
I purchased Legenda today and installed the latest update from 9 May 2014.
I first installed the theme and then all plugins.
However when i try to edit any page i get this warning first:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/plw55ixh0t4qgm0/Screenshot%202014-05-12%2000.06.29.jpg

Everytime i work on a page it asks me first to convert. This is getting annoying.
Also you said that you seperated VC from the Theme.
So how can i do the upgrade process ?

    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Ufuk

    Hello,

I’ve checked the page editor in admin panel and haven’t see that error for VC. Have you resolved it?

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

I have the same problem, I updated tot 2.2 and wp 3.9.1

First i deleted the bakery folder. Then i FTPd the theme files to the theme folder and overwritten the old files.

Then I saved the theme settings.
Then i installed visual composer through the 8theme menu in WP backend.

Now my visual composer backend function does not work, shows nothing. Also when i make a new page and try to edit it in backend mode.

When i look at the visual composer settings I see that there is an upgrade available, but can’t upgrade cause it asked for a Envato Licence key for visual composer.

Please Advise, added login so you can look for yourselve.

Also having similar issues, and am getting quite frustrated. Can’t update VC, and the design tab is completely missing. Posted a similar forum here, hoping for resolution soon.

    Guys, any news?

have you had time to look? I have a deadline that I need to make. I need to decide if I need to roll back the installation completely to the old version…. or not.

I had 100% success updating to the new version of Visual Composer by updating the template. However, one of the steps not mentioned until the very end is that you need to remove the wpbakery folder before copying the Legenda files over, and then be sure to go the Theme Options and click save. Worked for me.

    https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/legenda/index.html#!/upgrade

We want to warn the clients who are already using our theme: updating theme to version 2.2 may cause some mess on the pages with Sections and Parallax Effect! This is due to changes made in the code and separated Visual Composer. Therefore, after the upgrade to Legenda version 2.2 be ready that you will need to recreate those pages!

Please take our apologies for the inconveniences and we’ll be grateful if you treat it with understanding .

Always create a backup of all your files and database before upgrading!

Also delete wpbakery folder from wp-content/themes/legenda before update to version 2.2!

    @Toolbox

I followed those instructions to the letter.

Can you confirm that your visual composer is working, so when you edit a page can you go into backend editing mode? (that is where you can drag the boxes, ad rows and elements)

@ Donmiat – yes that is correct, I can confirm that it is working. I can give you a backend username/password on my test site if you want to check it out for yourself. I’m not sure what’s going on with your update, but I do hope you get the problem solved soon. :/

The only problem I’m having is that Visual Composer seems to have removed sections, and only uses rows and columns. But maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be.

Thanks @toolbox for the info, i ftp’d and overwritten the legenda theme files again. Just to be sure there was no copy mistake.

It did not help the visual composer backend edit function is still not working.I REALLY need someone from 8theme to look at this now.

Reading all the comments on themeforest I clearly aint the only one with this problem. @Toolbox thank you for trying to help, but this is something that 8theme has to look into.

    Hello, @Donmiat
    Sorry for delay.
Problem with Visual Composer is related to your scripts error in your backendscripts error.
That error caused the next error with VС script.
Even if you enable default theme, this issue persists. In addition to VC issue there is problem with switching between Visual editor and Text editor tabs in your WP installation.
So, solve your problem with those scripts and VС problem will be solved too.

    Olga Barlow

    Hello, @toolbox
We are glad to hear that you solved your issue with VС update. I want to tell you that we did not remove Sections feature, we just modified it. You can find in documentation how to create section with bg and how to create parallax effect according to new rules https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/legenda/index.html#!/visual_composer

    Thank you for the reply,

Where is this scripting error? is this a hosting server related error? or is it a wordpress installation error? or is it a plugin conflict error?

I just installed the theme and I can NOT update the WPBakery Visual Composer. The plugin is asking to be updated. Didn’t 8Theme put it updated in the theme folder for download?

Should I updated this plugin or not?

    How can I do it?

When I try to do it it says:

An error occurred while updating WPBakery Visual Composer: Update package not available.

    @8Theme Just an update.

I do not know what caused the scripting error, but a complete new install of wordpress together with the theme fixed the VC problem. (I saved as much as I could but still needed to rebuild a lot) I am now able to go into Backend Edit mode.

    @Mothpre
With regards to the VC pugin update, with every theme update 8theme includes the newest version of Visual Composer that is available at that moment.. Unfortunately visual composer came with an update 5 days after 8theme had updated their theme. So with the next Legenda update the newest will be included, as for now you can work with the previous version. …. Hope this helps.

Hello 8Theme Support and forum members. I too have this problem. Purchased Legenda yesterday, installed today. Keen to get going with Visual Composer
Receiving the following error message when attempting to upgrade the plug-in

“Updating Plugin WPBakery Visual Composer (1/1)
An error occurred while updating WPBakery Visual Composer: Update package not available.”

Please assist with a quick response on how to have the plug-in simply upgraded.

    Hello @andzap,

You have to buy a license key to update VC. Or you can wait for the next theme release where all plugins implemented in the theme will be updated to the latest versions.

    Eva Kemp.

I was under the impression is was bundled as part of the theme licence?

    It say’s ‘Visual Composer Include’.
