    Hi 8Theme,

If you guys can help that would be great!

Most of the elements that I add to a row in Royal fit nicely with the “Stretch row” or “Stretch row and content” settings, but a Revolution Slider does not (nor does Essential Grid, also by the guys at Theme Punch).

Here is an example (development site): Revolution Slider Too Wide

We are using the Boxed layout in Royal but Slider Revolution, even though set to “Auto” and with a max-width of 1200px, expands the background image beyond the edges though the boxed layout only shows the 1200px within the content. Is there a way to avoid this and have it know that it’s container is only 1200px wide? There is a note in the Row Settings about overflow:hidden but I am unsure what that means and am not sure if this is a Visual Composer thing, a Royal Theme thing or a Slider Revolution thing.

If I need to explain more I can! Thanks, 8theme for any help you can give!

    Hello,

Do you want to stretch the slider to the sides http://storage1.static.itmages.com/i/16/0218/h_1455783365_2537013_7bfce035c0.png ?

    Hi guys,

Thanks for your reply! I’ll do my best to clarify just a little bit more and have added credentials to the section below.

Comment: So on a larger display (an iMac 27″ for instance), the top slider background image gets stretched too large – it seems to be calculating it’s width based on the “stretch content” width instead of just 1200px. The slider below this, of course, doesn’t have the row stretched but therefore has the padding around it which is what I am trying to get rid of by selecting “Stretch Row” in the Visual Composer Row Settings.

Thanks for having a look and seeing what you can do!

As a reference, the slider in the Page Title/Page Heading area (at the top of the Page) is performing perfectly – that’s what I’d love to see the sliders within the page content do, if possible.

    Thanks again, 8theme!

    Hello,

    Sorry for misunderstanding.
Could you please show screenshots what you’re trying to achieve?

    Thank you.

    Hi Eva,

Thanks – yes, happy to take some screenshots.

Attached are 2 screenshots: the first is taken on a wide display (27″) and the second on a laptop width. You’ll notice that the background image gets stretched way too far on the wide display but is more appropriate on the laptop display (though still not according to the 1200px boxed width).

Does that help a little better?

Basically, the Slider Revolution should should be contained within the content, just like the Slider that is below the example that I am using: it is contained within the padding of the Visual Composer Row. Usually I would say, “Stretch Row” and it would just stretch to the edge, but this isn’t working for Slider Revolution.

Thanks for any insight you can give (now that you see what I mean, hopefully a little better).

    Thanks again!

    Link to screenshots:

    • 27″ wide display: http://cl.ly/1Y1W032y1t0U – background image is stretched way too far
    • laptop width: http://cl.ly/1R363A2Q0t1M – background image is at more appropriate size but just illustrates that the calculation is not taking into account the 1200px and is using instead the window size

The max-width the slider should be is 1200px and then it should calculate the background image size from there (not the browser window size).

    Hello,

I’ve changed background size in the slider settings http://prntscr.com/a58oi9 .
Please clear browser cache and check slider now.

    Hi Eva,

That seems to do the trick now for what I need. The Ken Burns effect doesn’t seem to acknowledge/calculate the boxed width but having a static image is all we need so that’ll do.

Thanks again. We can consider this ticket resolved. 🙂
